This should be interesting.
For me: I had a sprained ankle (unrelated to guard) during band camp, but I still learned the routine and was able to kinda perform it at the end of the week.
During tryouts, I blackened my eye doing a butterfly. A BUTTERFLY! How did I manage THAT?
Doing a Grandfather toss (the highest we have- a 3) I didn't catch it fast enough and it broke my toe. And I still had to march.
I blackened an eye doing a one handed horizontal. I tossed it, looked up to watch it, and for whatever reason, I made no attempt to catch it. It hit me full in the face. It also gave me a nose that poured blood.

lol. it was like, the beginning of this year, and i tried a horizontal on my rifle, but it was too low and came at my temple full force. it hit just above, and i have a permanent bump from it. i got to go home early, and i almost got sent to the emergency room! XD
at a football game, i managed to sprain my ankle without noticing while performing, and i couldn't walk by the end of it. two of the percussion dads had to help me get to the bus. i was in a splint for the rest of the week. D:
but other than that, i really haven't had too many major injuries. biggrin

Well, I haven't gotten any major injuries. Bumps and bruises. My wrists were so sore last week from my rifle hitting the ground and bouncing back into them. And like my second day on rifle I tossed a double parallel and missed catching it with my left hand, so it was all on my right hand. Needless to say, I failed to stop the rotation and ended up with a nice bump next to my eye. And during marching band, it was really windy and we had to toss a strip toss. THREEE TIMES IN A ROW I hit myself in the same spot on my forehead. They told me to compensate for the wind, and I was, the wind was just a lot stronger than me.

Well, in an unrelated issue, I joined guard with a missing toenail. .-. Haha, that was fun.
ANYWAY. Um. It could be catching a double with my face like I did yesterday. Or landing on the side of my foot while doing complicated dance moves, and falling over with my full weight on the foot I landed on. .-. Both happen often.

My worst was a really badly sprained ankle, I couldnt march or do colorguard for a month and a half =[ worst month of my life.
Um, I caught a parallel on my cheekbone and nearly broke it it was all purple and so swollen my capitain even got scared and too me in to the band director. Everybody on the team was like, "oh its not that bad you can hardly notice it..." Then my capitains boyfriend walked in and was like "OMG WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR FACE!?!?!?!?!?!" lol xD Very encouraging... xD

When we practice inside, we can't really see eachother's faces unless we turn to see them. When I got hit in the face (also blackening my eye) I just kinda shrugged it off and continued flagging. Then my boyfriend walked by, did a double take, and suddenly yelled "OHMYGOD ERIN!" and treated me like I was dying or something.

Hyper-extended hamstring doing splits during a show. Minus multiple bruises and bumps on the face and head. I've never actually hurt myself majorly.
My captain did break her foot though during a show.

Personaly I've really only had a lot of bruises and cuts and the like. My freshman year though I was practicing doubles on rifle and I released it wrong and hit one of the other girls in the forhead. She had a goose egg the size of a tennis ball sweatdrop

Me I have done a lot of things I will just fo over this month!!! First day of practice I busted my nose on the move where the flag goes around your arm, then I got a bruise on my elbow and it hurt to put it down on anything, then I kinda cut my lip on my braces when my flag hit my mouth!!! Last month the clown of the group got a giant gash in her head from a SABER and still had to practice the next day!!!

Well I've never been hurt too badly but I went to the pensacola regionals this febuary and there was one girl. I think she was from alabama university. She knocked her eye out with a saber. there was blood everywhere a little less than half way through the show. THe blood was flowing all the way to her neck it looked terrible I thought they would stop the show but she kept performing like nothing. If you didnt see the river of blood coming out of he eye you coulndt even tell she was hurt. SHe was smiling counting and doing all her work with everyone else. At the end she ran out pretty fast and her instructor had to run after her and bring her back in to have someone look at it. When she came back everyone was screaming for her.
