I stated before in my "Daddy Issues" topic that the psychic tells Claire that no one else can raise her baby.
I just read that and realized.
maybe thats why charlie is dead! maybe anyone else who fathers/mothers her child will die.
any thoughts?

That sounds like a valid theory also because Charlie tells Hurley later to tell Jack that he can't raise the baby. Also, maybe Charlie died because he was sick of Desmond always saving him.
