So i have to write a research paper in the near future and was wondering if it would be a good i dea to research the author of the redwall series

This would be an AWESOME idea, since Brian Jacques has had such an interesting life. Besides Redwall, he's been a stand-up comic, a construction worker, and a teacher at a school for the blind.
There's more, so do a little more reasserch.

That depends. I'm not sure how many sources you would be able to find on Jacques, and if your teacher requires you to use a certain number of books/articles, or won't let you use the internet, you'll probably be stuck. Research paper tip: check the internet and your library and see how many sources you can find on your topic; if it's a reasonable number, go for it. =)

Yeah, I agree with Jen. I don't know if there's a single biography written about Jacques... so if you're in need to hard materials, it would be very very hard.
I actually wrote a research paper/biography on JRR Tolkien in 10th grade, but that was easy. There is at or around a bajillion biographies written on him.
