I'm a oboe player and I'm glad I stuck with it, most oboe players I knew back in middle school quit or switched instruments when they reached high school.
It takes alot of work to get good at the oboe, which really makes me happy that I found time to practice it. The other oboes I knew didn't practice because it "Made there mouths hurt". Ha ha! Their mouths wouldn't hurt if they just PRACTICED!.... Ok, I'm starting to rant.....
Anyways, if you're an oboe player that stuck with it I salute you. (Even though I never really found oboe to be that incredibly hard to begin with)

I play Oboe! Three years! Yay! I thought it was easy at first, and it has since.

Amen! In fact, I switched from flute to oboe. Cuz we all know oboe just PWNS. ;]

ya the oboe rocks and i just started and im the 2 oboe player at my school, isent that sad but i made most of my friends want to play the oboe. they always say "I was going to play oboe" or " I'm going to switch to oboe." Only one person is switching to the oboe.

I've been to tons of schools, only 3 in the past 4 1/2 years, though. I've met another oboe player in each of these schools, all of which have quit except for 1.

We don't have any oboe players in the symphonic bands at my school xp I wish we did, I like their sound
