In all honesty, I'm a tad disappointed with the MC's that came out this month. I think that they lacked flavor and creativity,, but there no worse than some of the other MC's that have come out in the past. (C'mon, we can all think of one MC that we absolutely hated) Plus, we now have guns on Gaia, which for some reason still doesn't sit right with me. Masterpiece was cool in concept, but I think that it still lacked in creativity ( I would have loved to get Mona Lisa's smile, Van Gogh's Sunflower, or the Sistine Chapel on my wall). Anyway, I was a tad agitated thinking of all the really cool things they could have done, but didn't.
However, I think I'm more agitated about the January MC's looking at the Cash Shop Items (CSI's) that came out in January:
January Birthstone Crown, Devoted Pawn, Immaculate Bishop, Exalted Rook, Majestic King, Valiant Knight, Imperial Queen, Tengu Mask, Kotengu Mask, Hannya Mask, Otafuku Mask, White Drome Egg, and The Experiment
I get frustrated seeing that there is so much cooler stuff coming out for the cash shop than their is for the MC's. The chess pieces could have been their own MC's if they were released right, and right about now I'd trade my assassin for an Imperial Queen.
I was just wondering if anyone else was feeling this same way; that the better items are going to the cash shop instead of as MC's, and if you think that this is going to be the new trend in things to come on Gaia.

I wasn't ecstatic about this months Donation Items. However, I completely disagree with you when you say the Masterpieces wasn't creative. Personally, I thought they did a very creative job with this one. It was something new and different. I don't really understand why so many people think this item is uncreative. *shrugs* Especially compared to the assassin item. The poses on the masterpieces are very interesting I think - even if I wouldn't wear most of them. I'm sure many people would have liked other poses from different pieces of art, but you can't please everyone. There are a lot of classic art pieces out there, after all. o_o
As for the assassin, I really don't like it. I don't think it looks awful, it's just not for me - not my style, I suppose. I don't really care that there is a gun pose, but I really don't want to get into a debate about pixel guns right now. xd
I do like the cash shop items a great deal more than this months Donation Items. I loved the chess set - it would have made an excellent donation item, but the fact that it didn't doesn't really bother me all that much.
I guess I never really thought about the cash shop items being better than the donation items and these issues don't really bother me because I rarely invest real cash for Gaia items, so I am playing this site for free, really.

My only beef with masterpieces was that Starry Night was made into a scarf. Gaia has an abundance of cool scarfs (chyaku, gothic veil has a scarf, the christmas 2k6 one, nitemare, angelic, celestial wrap has a scarf mode, the creepy looking orphan scarf...).
Assassin strikes me as one of those one pose wonders. The shadowy cloak looks neat.... and that's about it for me. I feel weird getting an MC for one pose.
I'm not terribly impressed with Cash shop. I have mixed feelings about the evolving items. Unicorns and stuff, that's cool n' all. But tama's basket... what is that supposed to be? It looks like I have a hatching cyclops of a crow. Mostly Cash shop isn't well designed for people who are too busy irl to be on Gaia to get all the latest, or people like me who are having a 16$ bank account month (I'm sorry, but pixel goodies can wait).
Thus on the note of my pitiful funds irl, I am probably a little relieved the MCs aren't spectacular this month. Had they come out with Gwee version 2.0... I'd be weeping.

I sort of liked Masterpiece, but I think they could have gone much further with it. I ended up not buying it.... I talked myself out of it.

I much preferred the CSIs. While I did not buy the masks, I DID buy the chess pieces (all but the rook and knight). I wasn't fond of the MCs because I'm not one to resort to violence, and the Masterpieces one just kind of looked odd for some reason or another this month. I probably should've saved my money (or rather I should say Mom's money) and bought some more GC (gaia cash) instead so I could buy more of the other items I really like.
