I will start a story, but here's the catch- it has to be finished in ten posts. The tenth poster will give a new prompt. The posts can be one line long, or take up a whole page. No limits. Three A.M. She leaned on the lamppost, facing the trees. A dark figure came out from the branches. As he approached, his face became clear in the hazy dawn light. It was Don Knotts. Back from the dead to do, well, something to her, apparently.

She knew where he come's from. Everyone does. Ever sence he drowned four months ago. But he has chosen her. Why? Panic beats through her body.

His feet trailed on the ground, squelching hideously and leaving trails of viscera and dirty water. His wide mouth was gaping open, the jaw chewing furiously around a giant black strangled tongue, choking out sounds, filthy noises that blasphemed the words they tried to imitate. He reached out his bloated hands to grab at her, the fingers closing and unclosing around their thick weight of water and decay - and it was then that she saw it, shining in the lamplight and cutting most indiscreetly into the dead actor's pinky finger.
It was a ring.
It was HER ring. It was the most important ring in the world, but why was it here? How did the drowned zombie of Don Knotts get something so secret, so important?
And moreover: how was she going to get it back?

"Crap!" she yelled. She looked around frantically for someone to help her, but the streets were empty. She had no choice but to burn this hideous thing, so she kicked down the lamppost on his head.

Strange, impalpable yet unfathomably real guttural noises and intense shrieks of what one could only assume to be pain ripped though the cold snowy air. The girl watched in frozen horror as the obsolete drifter plummeted to the concrete, the head of the lamp post had hit its target straight on, completely decapitating the corpse during his process to stand and get away from what was most obviously immense pain.
Yet still the now headless figure continued to move, on both feet in a circulatory rampage. His neck jutted out like that of a frozen chicken who had priorly been axed and plucked, and looked to be inside nothing more than raw hamburger meat that had blackened and greened with mold long ago.
The most putrid smells imaginable, much more stronger in comparison to burning hair and a fresh dump were coming from under the broken and jarring lamp. Sparks flew periodically as the head lay cooking in the ovular shape of the bulb. A face no longer recognizable had charred in a glory of flames. The girl wrinkled her nose at this, then saw that the rest of Don Knotts was no longer moving. To reward herself for a righteous zombie bashing, she drew out a candy cane from her coat pocket, removed the wrapper and gave it a long, meticulous suck.
Reminding herself of the ring, she looked to it for a fair amount of time while enjoying the sweet nectar of her seasonal treat. She decided, yes it was definitely her ring. But whether she would risk stepping up to the now immobile carcass which had very lively haunted her only moments before could not be certain.

tentatively, she crept up to the steaming mound of what was once a human. Gingerly, she tried to pull the ring off. With the ring came a decayed finger, rotted completely off of the hand. Shrieking softly, she dropped the ring. She knew it was an ancient heirloom of her grandmother, long gone, but was it really worth it pulling it from the rotten bit of flesh still hanging from the heavy metal? Making up her mind, she decided to do it anyway, and, looking away from the carnage, resulted in freeing a very grimy old ring from the man's finger. A large jewel, colored a bright turquoise, was set in the middle.

She picked up the ring, careful not to get any zombie flesh on her skin, and brought it to the water fountain to rinse. She had it securely on her finger now, and would't lose it again. But why, she had to know, did Don Knotts come for her? Was it a matter of moment or location? Did the ring have some special zombie-animating power? Either way, she'd have to find out, not willing to risk being attacked again.

it was the blood of a zombie. said to ooze from a mysterious object until it smoothered you, from head to toe. but it was always a object of the heart. someone's who meant the world to you. but was dead. creating one of the worst curses ever. their object was found by a zombie and pried away from your beloved dead. and the zombie would roam until it found you. and now worst of all it happened to her. she knew it was her grandma's ring. that it was on a zombie's finger. but they never said what happened after the blood spread. and she never was one to believe in such things anyways. so why not? and now the ring was on her finger. her heart was stopping. she was becoming lifeless. she was changing. but into what?

All of a sudden, she burst out of her skin. What mutant thing had she become? She looked at the sky, at the full moon, then back at her deformed finger. The ring wasn't there! She searched the ground, but could only see black and white. The ring was nowhere to be found. She looked at her body, now bristly with black hair standing up in all directions. She realized her ring had changed her into a werewolf.

She ran north, towards the great ice plains. She had been living on her own for 10 years now, no one would notice her absence. Legend told of a healer living up there who could help her. And if not... she would stay there. She wouldn't hurt anyone. She couldn't... 2 WEEKS LATER The northern lights flashed in the sky. She looked up, and pondered why it had to be her to suffer this fate. She never got cold, and the various injuries she received healed almost instantly. Her sense of smell was sharpened. She could smell game from almost half a mile away, and she had learned to control when she transformed. In fact, she smelled something now, off to the east... She ran toward it, transforming in midstride. It was a hut. She detected the scent of herbs and medicine. She would be saved. Okay, it's done! And now, a new prompt! The low tones of a bass emanated from the auditorium as I walked through the front doors of the school. I was early, as usual, and the halls were empty. I decided listening to the music would be better than sitting in the library for an hour, so I carefully slipped inside. I sat in the very back row, so as not to be seen, and peeked my head over the seat. There was only one bassist, sitting up on the stage. I concentrated on his hand, watching the spiderlike movements of his fingers on the fingerboard. "Hello." he said, as the song drew to a close. "I didn't see you there." He smiled a soft, warm smile, the kind you could drown in. "Oh!" I said, startled. "I'm sorry!" "No, no. It's really very flattering." "Oh... Well, I guess I'm so attracted to it because I'm a cellist myself... and it's so beautiful... you're amazing!" "Thank you. That means a lot. I came here yesterday, and you're the first person to talk to me. Anyway, I'm David. Do you have a name or what?" "T-Tana." I stuttered. "Well, hello, T-Tana. Hey, you're a ninth grader, right? You probably have lunch the same time as me. Come sit by me, alright?" "Ok." I smiled, feeling a little more comfortable now.

while sitting there in the large lunchroom with all the hustle and bustle of kids coming and going from friend to friend, others going to and from class, david scoots closer on the table to tana and asks "how long have you played cello? ive played the bass for about 5 years myself, its my way of relaxing, just sitting there with the bass in my hand and becoming one with the music. Maybe we can get together and play music sometime"

Then Tana replies, "Wow. I've only been playing for two now. Sure I would love to play with you. That would be great." She said staring dreamly into his eyes. They were dark brown. So deep. So soulful. So mysterious. And her heart was playing just like his fingers on the guitar. Could she be in love?, she thought.
