There are alot of topics about death, a common factor which many people are scared of... but is it death they are actually scared of?? or is it what happens next (the unknown) which people fear the most?? so, tell me... in your personal opinion, what scares you the most?? how you're going to die?? or not knowing what will happen to your soul when you do?? or do you fear both of them?? or maybe you just don't care about either of them?? everyone has their own opinion, and there isn't a wrong answer, so share your thoughts ^_^ i'd love to know your views. xX

I think perhaps the scariest thing about death is not the act of dying itself, but that one kind of just... dissapears afterwards; no one knows what happens, if anything at all, after death. I think the idea of not living anymore scares people more than the idea of death itself. Of course, people didn't have this problem in the past because of religious prelevence - although I don't think the same applies today (certainly not in Europe, I don't know about america...)

funky_fudge_monkey What do you think happens when you die?? xX i believe you gain infinite knowledge, and then how you react to that determines your fate. id est, if you merely check to find out if someone liked you, you get sent back to earth, or go to hell, or whatever, but if you look for the answer to alleviate an incurable disease or something like that, then you don't get stuck in this hell known as life. as for being scared, what's the point? it's a waste of energy to be scared of the unknown, because all that'll happen is you become paranoid, like 80% of the human race is already. if you don't worry about it, then it's importance shrinks. i've tried fathoming how many things could happen, and it's not easy. i actually got a headache thinking about it. wasted a day of my summer vacation, too.

You can't stop whats coming... And being scared of it won't make it any easier worry about it when the time comes... I myself think that wwhen you're dead thats it what's the use in thinking somethings gonna happen... Sorry h1dd3nph34r but what use is infinite knowldge when you're dead... you're taking on a heaven/purgatory/hell thing on and mixing it with knowledge... It's a good thought... Not that I'm saying you're wrong... I just find it unrealistic... but thats me... Anyway... Theres no use in being scared... It's what happens...

yea, i believe to dwell on the fear is kind of pointless but you can't help but question what you don't know of. to open your mind to endless possibilities is hard. something that we may have never and could never think of may be awaiting us after death. i don't really fear death, or what happens after it, i think i'm just curious.

I know for a fact i dont want to die a painful death, and when i do die i want to be able to accept it, and not feel any fear in my last moments. I am also scared about what is going to happen to my soul. there are many stories out there but one must be true.

I think it's natural to fear death and whatever is to follow it, but as some have said, there is no need to worry, not yet anyway, death comes to everyone, and so to fear something that must happen and is unavoidable is understandable but also unnecessary at this moment in time ^_^ xX

I'm not really scared about dying. It's the events that would lead up to my death, ie what is happening in the world at that point, that I'm afraid of right now. :c

I, for one, don't fear death at all. It's just the fact of what my soul will encounter in the next occurrence. Will I be sent to hell or heaven? Will I be reincarnated into a selfish, evil person or a gentle, kind person? Who knows? That is what I fear the most. Death is just the beginning of a whole other life.

Since everything in this world is one with everything else....death and life are the same.

Death IS the unknown, which is why it's so scary to most people. I guess it is just a natural tendency to fear things that we know nothing about or feel that we are unprepared for. Personally, I'm more scared of death than the journey beyond, since I'm not really religious so I don't believe in the afterlife.

I am strange in many ways, but the one that I find most useful is that I'm not afraid of death. It is the lack of control that we have over when we die that scares us the most. We're afraid we won't be able to "finish" our life.
However, not knowing what will happen after we die can be scary, too. That's why I'm starting my own religion. I don't agree with some things in each religion, so I just created my own. If you're interested, the link Guardians United will bring you to my website.

xXd3ViLXx by dying u mean the undead or something or death? by dying i mean, the way in which you die, like drowning or being murdered or perhaps just simply dying in your sleep... is the concept of not knowing how you're going to die scarier than not knowing what will happen to your soul after death (if you believe that your soul lives on)?? maybe it's scarier to think that once you're dead, then you're dead and there is no soul to live on?? it all depends on what you think life after death might be... whether you see it as a good thing or not, and whether you see dying as a good thing or not. xX
