I've decided to start compiling a list of clothing and accessories that Romantic Gothic fashionistas can get at 'normal' stores that most of you in the US and Canada should have access to (Target, Forever 21, Macy's, et cetera...)
As a Romantic fashionista myself, I know well the difficulty of being unable to find clothing I like at nearby shops. So hopefully this list will help both myself and the other romantics in this guild avoid the problem of being unable to find clothing in places other than the internet or the local thrift shop (not that I still don't love Goodwill... it's just that when one needs a nice winter coat before spring comes around, trying to find one at Goodwill may prove to be problematic...)

I will be adding more items in the future, but for now, enjoy! ^_^

NOTE: (I feel like an idiot adding this note, but I just want to prevent any future arguements...) I added a few things from Lip Service's HT line. Just because I added a couple dresses from Hot Topic, it dosn't mean that you guys should turn this thread into a war zone about how Hot Topic is or is not a 'gothic' store. In my eyes, it is not a gothic clothing store, but on rare occassions will have somthing that is quite goth-friendly. Sears, Macy's, Target, and other such emporiums are not gothic shops, but no one raises a fit when one of those stores happens to have one or two goth-friendly peices of clothing, so why b***h out Hot Topic for it? I know thier quality isn't superb, but neither is the quality of a lot of the clothing sold at Target. At the very least, if you yell at goths who happen to own a few items from Hot Topic because HT isn't a 'goth' store, then you should be mad at all goths who shop for clothing anywhere apart from local gothic speciality shops, because, of course Macy's is somehow not permitted to carry anything remotely gothy! rolleyes

More to the point: This thread is about goth-friendly clothing that most Americans and Canadians have access to through thier local malls and shopping centers. If you don't like a certain store, then JUST DON'T SHOP THERE, plain and simple.

Anyways, on to the clothing!

My computer (just now recovering from a crash) is a bit touchy, so I won't be linking, but I'd like to point out that you can find some very nice Victorian-themed or influenced clothes for men and women at Express.

You can also (occassionally, by season) find some good stuff at the GAP.

I found a few things on the Express website, and will be looking at GAP and a few other websites later.

I have seen most of those things while out shopping. I feel happy that I'm not the only one who found those. Also at the newport-news, they have some nice Victorian like outfits as well.

suede ankle boot

velvet tweed jacket

Those were a few quick finds.

The 'romantic goth' style has taken quite a trendy turn.
it's nice because it's easier to find stuff I like. For me it's not about ' being original' or 'non conformist' it's a style that I like, and a long with it comes a culture and a way of thinking, and I just became it. I didn't force myself into it, it truely is who I am.

Thanks for the suggustions! whee

I went onto the Newport News website, and I'm in love with so many of the things they have! Even though they're not a physical store (...are they?), I've included some of thier items on my list anyways, because they are just so cool! I'm in lobve with thier velvet granny boots and equestrian and riding jackets. *drools*

Your welcome.

I'm not entirely sure. My sister gets the catalog every month and I think it's one. I love a lot of there clothes. I love the riding jackets.

Dear lord.
I think tomorrow will be devoted to attempts to get some of those shoes.

This is a very nice thread :3
I give love to most anyone who manages a link list. They can become all sorts of tedious.
