Well I have to admit I'm kind of(very) biased against George Bush I've never really thought the man intelligent I mean sure there's the war and such with him giving excuses like "Saddham has WOMD's" then goes and says "We did it to strike at terrorism" then saying "We're spreading the goodness of democracy" the man is an idiot in my opinion. Also just to throw an interesting tidbit of information out there, he did almost choke to death on a pretzel, and I add onto that statement with my response of "Damn..."

I don't have anything good to say about Bush, anyways I only can state the point as a non-american. I have already been against him, since I followed one of his first election speeches, and his words didn't contain one word of serious politics, it was more religious fanatism.

Now, I am not american, but I can find very little good to say about George Bush. As far as I am concerned, that man has gotten far too big for his boots - he preaches about fighting for good and the rest of the world when really all he cares about is goddamn America - a country that refuses to comply with international regulations on polution, has made no attempt to help the environment or prevent climate change, and thinks - however wrongly - that it is the only nation in the world that matters. George Bush went to war in Iraq for oil because our natural depostits are running out. Howeverm having said that, I do not beleive that his views truly represent the american people as a whole, but if he continues to win elections my opinion may soon change.

Bush is not an idiot. People who believe in him are. The guy is a liar. He lied about Iraq and he is now lying about Iran. And yeah... Everybody make mistakes but at least our mistakes don't start wars. Oh no wait, that wasn't his mistake, he was actually looking forward to it.

Actually, Gordon Brown has done nothing as yet to make ppl beleive that he will kiss up to Bush anywhere near as much as Blair did. (He is a pretty crappy prime-minister, though...)

I don't think he's an idiot...but I don't think he is a tower of intellect either. I'd say he's about average. I think it's the fact that his logic and reasoning powers seem rather fix and rigid that lead to the appearance of stupidity. Although I haven't ruled out the possibiltiy that he is an idiot. I know he went to an ivy league school and all. But as the head of my department said "there are plenty of educated fools in the world." A motived student can get an excellent education in a small, unknown, cheaper school. And a rich kid... well, you can figure out where I'm going with that.
Personally, be happy if I never saw or heard about him again. I think he has a somewhat off-kilter perception of reality and that he is so focused on his own agenda that it has never occured to him that he might be wrong. Feeling strongly about your convictions can be a strong point in a leader, but when it reaches the point that some one is blind to reality there is a problem. This "my way or the highway" mentality doesn't cut it (well, it SHOULDN'T) in a representative democrasy. Also, the fact that some of his actions are totally against what the framers of the Constitution had in mind for the nation when it was founded.... this whole imperial presidency thing they tried to prevent from being possible.... yeah, that doesn't sit too well with those of us who have actually heard of the Constitution and Bill of Rights, and who have read them (I even have a copy). Perchance if Mr. Bush, and some of his supporters, could ever get around to reading them for themselves, things might be better. But I'm an idealist.

Everybody make mistakes but at least our mistakes don't start wars. Oh no wait, that wasn't his mistake, he was actually looking forward to it. Pretty much my sentiments. Bush did not make mistakes. All of these so-called accidents were carefully orchestrated to manipulate the public into supporting Bush in doing what he and his wealthy associates had planned to help them make more money and take the American government several steps closer to a dictatorship. Anyone who thinks that Bush isn't a bad guy should look up the Patriot Act and Guantánamo Bay.

It's interesting that this discussion is happening a few days after the anniversary of the bombing at Pearl Harbor. There are many conspiracy theories stating that the US knew and wanted the attack by the Japanese so that we could rally the people to support us entering WWII. Many people, good Americans, died at Pearl Harbor. And just as tragic are the lives of the many good people who died in the Twin Towers, which is the worst attack on America's soil in the history of our country. A tragedy. And an interesting point is that during the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the Japanese were here in the US attending a peace conference.
Now, I do support this war. It's late so I'm not going into a point by point evaluation with you all, talking about the recent NEI reports and other such stuff. I have a cousin who lived with my fam a few years who is like an older brother to me who just left to serve in his first tour in Iraq with the Air Force. I'm very Proud of his bravery.
Now, I'm not happy with Bush when it comes to the Borders. What happened to Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean is a catastrophic tragedy. And Bush should have pardoned these two men, but he is friends with the guy heading up the case, or whatever, I need sleep.
So I'm not a Bush lover. But I'm not a hater either.
BTW, we're winning in Iraq. Don't let the closed minded biased media fool you. The serge is working, and working well.

it depends on what you mean by "winning." personally, i don't consider any outcome of war a "victory."
Bush has his own agenda, and seems to be pursuing it at all costs. I don't agree with his agenda, but there isn't much I'm able to do about it at the moment. For now, I'm looking forward to the next election and hoping a candidate emerges with values I can identify with.
