So the bass harnesses my drumline uses are supposedly "Girl friendly".
...not so much. not only do they still squish us, but they are made for taller people, so mine rested on my hip bone and made my right thigh go numb when ever i tried to march it. gonk
(i dont usualy play bass, so it wasn't really adjusted for me right, i had to take over a guys drum, but it was still to big for me.)

I play base drum when marching and it's quite comfortable for me (well... in the case of the harness... still tries to break my back)

I played bass drum this year in marching band and i thought it was quite comfortable after band camp, if you had it all the time then it might become comfy, too

I played bass drum and we have shitty harnesses in general.
I don't think they were people-friendly even.
Mine was adjusted for someone taller than me so I could bend my legs as much as I normally could have because the bottom of the carrier would hit my theighs. : /
Besides that my carrier was fine. We switched carriers around in the begining and one just kinda hit my boobs and didn't touch my stomach at all but the other fit pretty well all around.
I can't remember which one I ended up using.
xD

We have girl-friendly harnesses because three of our players are girls and once mine was adjusted to fit me it was actually not too bad. it crushed my chest a little but not a painful amount.

we dont have any 'girl friendly' harnesses because im the first girl drummer theyve had in maybe ten or so years. i share another guy's snare cause we dont have enough. anyway, everyone in the drumline is taller than me so his harness almost rests on my hip bones and the metal shoulder straps crush my girls. crying

Yeah I agree with that is well. For the longest time I disagreed about it till I dated a girl who was a drum player and got to see some of the marks it left on her body...oh well suck it up is all I can say. But I do hope they make straps and other stuff that is easier for women that way they don't have to suffer.

Eck, I'm glad I'm tall. My harness crushes my chest, but it feel okay, just starts hurting my shoulders after a while. Still, it reaches a little onto my thighs.

I know what you mean. I play bass drum and when I went out on the field, I felt like my hips were going to die. We even tried to fit mine to my body, but I'm too short.

Goodness,
The harnesses at our school weren't too bad.
There was just the usual pressure on the shoulders,
and that's more the drum than the harness.
However, I joined the marching band a day later than everyone else,
so I got stuck with the lousy harness that was made for much taller people.

oki so i dont actually play on the drumline but i know how p[ainful the harnesses are with boobs and being to big!!! so here's the deal i was taking my vibe back up to the band room after practice around 8/9 pm...and my friend that plays tenors was walking next to me and i asked him if he could take up my vibe for me and i would take up his tenors...so we switched and he's like a little over a foot taller than me so it was in the middle of my thighs and crushing my boobs!!! though i kept up with him i even had to slow down at one point cause my vibe wheels suck on everything! after we got back up there he said my vibe sucked for taking it places by hand and it didnt even break on him!!! it always breaks for me! but he said he wouldnt take my vibe up agian cause it was to hard...but i got to hang with a cutie ^^ even though my boobs and shoulders hurt...if i ever do that agian i swear i will find a way to not have boobs...but i got closer to him casue we talked through out the whole time...tenors are fun though!!! ^^ i've learned a little about playing them through him and my ex boyfriend...

Yeah...I got stuck with the biggest drum and it bruised my hip bones...It didn't squish me so much up top, but holy crap! That sucked so hardcore...It seriously hurt to touch my hips. Harnesses suck...XD

yeah...our entire bass line is all girls, and then we have a girl snare player. we have probly put the harnesses every which way and they still don't feel right. just never march in jeans, that total kills off your hips....
