if anyone is interested, now that the PS3 has confirmed that it will have DivX support, rumours are now surfacing that the 360 MIGHT be getting it, sounds like MSoft are the ones following now, rather then leading. However its not confirmed yet.

Yes, however it might not go, as Microsoft likes people to use THEIR system, Media Player, and although I use it for MP3s and all, I have some things that I needed to download codecs to watch.

Dont know, but I guess the announcement scared Microsoft into acting, since they were apparently showing no interest in it, they have now said the 360 will get it. Just fallowing the leader, not taking the lead. Of late, it seems that Msoft isnt taking the lead anymore, they rushed the consol so they could get a year head start to ensure they could compete, they seem to be just following now, when the xbox came out, they had a lead, although mostly due to the fact they came out later and with newer tech.

Zarrock-misery What is Div X? confused I've never heard of it. It's a type of video encoding that is popular with like anime episodes that are downloaded.

Zetta Beam!!! So does this mean I can burn .Avi files onto a DVD in data disc format and not DVD meaning I save ALOT of room on the disc and it will still play? It should. As long as they fansubbers did the right encoding.
