To try to save a relationship that has been on the rocks for almost a year? Its a question i've been asking myself for sometime now, but i can never find the answer. She is a sweet girl but she really needs to grow up, and i know her life has been s**t but that is no reason to take it out on me. Everytime were together at her house she is complaning about how her mom wants her out of the house, how her dad left her, and how much of an a** her brother is. We haven't had a meaningfull exchange of words since our first date. Its gotten to the point where she is treating me like her mother or brother. I figure its gotten to the point where i have to decide wether or not to pull the plug.

Could you imagine to live a life wihout her, to never see her again?
If you can`t live without her, then you`ll have to fight for the relation. But for that it is very important that you tell her what annoys you, better said that you will always listen to her, but that you tell her softly something like if she can also talk about something else then her life. Afterall it has been said and as long the situation does not change she should not ruin her few moments she has with you where she can escape hell. Something like that.
Just my thoughts

And since a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship is not necessarily a commitment, you certainly do not need to fight for the relationship if things are taking a steep turn downhill. I do encourage communication, but it seems like she's not even willing to communicate.

It sounds to me like you don't want to be with her anymore. The only good thing you said about her was that she is a sweet girl. I'm assuming you're young, and people change. Live your life. There is probably someone out there better suited for you, and someone better suited for her. However, if you really love her and she loves you, try to work out those problems. Here is another question I ask people who wonder about their relationships: Would you be friends with them if you never were in a relationship with them? In other words, if you would have never made the time to be friends with her, then a relationship is probably not a good idea.
