Ok, I was playing The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (and afterwards I mowed the lawn) And I came up with this:
Note: Please ignore all the magic and the gods. But I kind of needed that.
This is but one tale of which the creatures speak.....
Long ago, there was a land called Mossflower. This land was blessed with tall mountains, bountiful crops, and freedom loving goodbeasts.
But one day, a very evil Wolverine-lord named Rip-Rend Slashmane (all I can think of) began to lay waste to the north. His powerfull magics and unstoppable army of Wolves, Foxes, and rats were unmatched in battle.
The gods saw this, and commanded the surviving beasts to retreat to the mountaintops, for they would drown the land. And with it, the evil beasts and all the magics of the world that plauged the land for so long.
Soon, this tale became legend.
Legend to myth.
But Rip-Rend Slashmane has again emerged from the depths he was sealed in. He and his newly rallied armies have barricaded themselves at the former Southsward Castle. (now The Red Isle)

Alright,
Salamandastron still exists. It's mostly underwater. It's still inhabited by Hares and a badger lord. With a few sea otters here and there.
The mountains beside Salamandastron grew lush forests and are inhabited by two warring factions. The Coneslinger Squirrels and the Painted Ones.
Otters live on a great wooden warf above Redwall
The mountain north of Redwall is inhabited by Hedgehogs, Moles, Shrews, Otters, Squirrels, Mice, etc.
The Great Southern Cliffs are made up of mostly Vermin hordes. But there are a few Goodbeast settlements here and there.
The Gods also raised a grove of trees that reach above the water. These are home to many Birds.
Toads and frogs live in the water and raid land settlements.
Lizards and snakes are virtually extinct.

So, the plot...
The many islands have begun speaking of a wandering prophet who claims the Gods will un-drown Mossflower and restore the land to its former glory if Rip-Rend Slashmane is defeated and purged from the Earth.
As adventurers, it is your job to travel amongst the islands and raise an army capable of attacking The Red Isle.

Erm, this is... really funny. Cool idea, but still hil-arious. heart I really like Wind waker, too. Aaaand my own RP isn't going anywhere, so I guess I can give this 'un a try. Now, to create the perfect Redwall-Zelda character...
Aha!
Name: Mirr Fenntrill
Species: Squirrel
Age: The equivalent of about, eh... 15? Yeah, let's go with that.
Appearance: I shall have to draw a picture when I get the chance. For now, just go on the idea of a average, if a bit skinny, red squirrel with dark brown eyes with a scowl plastered on her relatively pretty face. She also has a yellowish triangle on the fur on the back of her hand (Well, it IS part Zelda...)
Weapon: A dirk with blue and silver inlay in the handle. The hilt is a little wobbly, though, due to the hidden compartment inside the handle.
History: Her small tribe has lived for many years in a small aboreal village on the Norfedal (shortened form of North of Redwall) Mountian. She grew up listening to tales of heroes, kept alive only by word of mouth. Unsatisfied with the boring life of a farmer, she "borrowed" an old boat (that does not talk XD) and some provisions and set out to sea the week after her 15th nameday, and is now sailing the high seas with a little bit of difficulty.
Personality: She's actually pretty pessimistic, but she takes chances anyways. In a fight, she will probably run away, as a life of peace encourged not learning how to deal with such situations.
Oh yeah, and is the story equivalent to Wind Waker's? Like, I know you have the Gannon, but is there a 'Hero of Time' or a Princess? 'Cause I put a triangle on my chara's hand, but it will just be a wierd reference if there is no Triforce.

For now, this "Prophet" has rallied several adventurers to gather an army.

Ok, I'm adding this.
The gods commanded that the sword of Martin be recovered from Redwall, for only it could kill Rip-Rend.

Father fights in many wars, so he isn't home often. Occupation: An Adventurer Personality: Courageous, With a strong sense of honor. He doesn't believe in ranged combat and uses a Halberd. Is suprisingly merciful, even to the worst Vermin. ((We're starting, then?))
It was a sunny, brisk morning in Autumn ( which I could spend a few more sentences describing, but I'll skip to the good part). Unlike most autumn mornings, it brought an annoyingly strong breeze, which was, to my dismay, gleefully tugging my little boat at the rocks of a reefy little island. I was using all of my sailing skill (which I had gained from a small book that was tucked into my belt pouch and about a day of experience) to try and pull down the sail.
Using my squirrely agility, I lept up the mast, only to be tossed back to the deck by a swinging rope. Not... good... I thought, pulling myself up and trying once more to reach the ropes to pull down the sails. This time I was more successful, and I succeeded in pulling it down and getting lots of canvas in my face.
After a stressful 15 minutes of wrestling it into the tiny cabin of the boat, I set the tiller to steer me away from the rocks and settled down for a nice lunch of a apple slices and a dollop of hazelnut butter pressed between 2 fat slices of slightly stale crusty bread. ((What? It's Redwall. We have to care about the food!))

Forde Ambertail walked merrily along, He was on his way to his tribe's shipyard. He was chosen by The Prophet to rally an army. He thought he would start on the isle of Norfedal. Its population alone could field several battalions, and be the main fighting force for The Red Isle Invasion.
He speared an apple upon his halberd and began munching. He dreamed in his mind that he would become a great hero of this war. Returning to his island on a solid ceder boat laden with treasure and food.
His walking picked up pace, and he began humming a song.

((Yeah, he's only half-stealing the plot (NO! I WANNA TRIFORCE! WAHH!), so you can sort-of follow along...
And, sorry, but none of my close friends are very into Redwall. I'm not even that big on Redwall novels anymore, but it's still a fun world to draw and Rp in... OFF TOPIC! *runs back to boat to wait for something interesting*))

The sun shined low in the sky when Forde reached the shipyard. The dockhand smiled and pointed him towards a boat without a word.
And so Forde set out, on what he expected to be a great adventure.
