Yinepu...debut...ahahahahaha rofl
*coughs* Anyway. The new MC, Gift of the Gods, is obviously a companion piece to Gift of the Goddess. And like Isis in GotGoddess, Anubis lends his looks to GotGods, namely his head and a huge decorative belt (or something along those lines >_>).
So, my fellow Egyptology Guilders (is that even a word? o_O), what do you think of this latest addition to the growing influence the guild has on Gaia that is slowly going to take over the site selection of Egyptian-themed items on Gaia? Did they do Anubis proud? Do you have the item, and what kinds of avatars will/have you make/made with it?
(Curse Gaia for releasing another Egyptian-themed MC right after I go on a shopping spree at the music store...) gonk

You have no idea how hard it is for me to get hold of one!!! I have the gold but the demand for the Gift of God is rather high and, last time I checked, they don't sell in the Market Place sweatdrop
Though I'm pleased to see that Gaia are making more Egyptian themed items whee

I too apreciate that Gaia making more egyptian items. ^^ But, I don't think I like the Anubis head... It feels like alot of people just going to use it because "it looks cool". And that... Well, I think it's almost disgraceful... sweatdrop Do you get my point?

@Rennie: Gaia's only letting new listings for the Marketplace go in the Marketplace 3.0 beta. That way, when the old MP goes offline, there won't be this huge mass of items needing to be sent back to Gaian inventories. So far, GotGods is going at about 16000 gil gold, but I'd wait until the end of the month because that's when the most GotGods will be in circulation and thus the price will be lower. 3nodding
@Lokun: Hm. You may be right. But so far I haven't seen very many Anubis heads around Gaia...(everyone's going for the leaves gonk xp )

They're definitely going for the leaves. rofl I've searched for Anubis in the arenas and got 3 pages of them. And it seem like at least three of them have copied the description from somewhere, because they were exactly the same. xd

This boy goes "Why did he cut him up? Why couldn't he just set him on fire?" which is a fair point but his Dad goes "It's just a myth, they're not true." mad

I agree with Lokun, but mostly because I thought they could have made a better looking head. wink The one they have is so... techno-gothic looking. Inpw is much better looking than that, honest! But I understand concerns about people "wearing" the gods just to look cool... personally, I had the same qualms about Ast/Isis' headdress and the ureaus (cobra) Egyptian headband... but what can you do? Our gods are just too cool, people can't help wanting to be like Them, lol. You just have to laugh about it. 3nodding
I was really excited to see the Gift of God come out- I'd been expecting it for some time (as were the rest of you, I'm sure^_~). I like the feather of ma'at and heart icons, but the other two Egyptian items... not bad, certainly! But they could have been better- if the mask looked a little less like something like Batman's archnemesis might wear, and if the belt had been a bit less bulky, I'd have been happier.
But another Egyptian item is always awesome, and I cheer the programmers on for giving us another "fix" for our addiction! whee

On the other hand, I'm really liking this Alchemyst item- alchemy's been a recent interest of mine, especially seeing as it claims roots in Egyptian philosophy (whether or not that's true, I don't know enough to say). I'd like to find the real book somewhere- it looks interesting. The only thing that gives me pause is that Dr. Dee was not a villain, but this book apparently portrays him that way. On the other hand, it's so rare to find someone else who even knows the name that I'm amused to see him as a character at all.^_^

The battle between Horus and Seth, Ra's secret name, Ra and Sekhmet's revenge blah de blah de blah. Who could possibly not like them xd

I managed to grab an envelope about thirty seconds after the announcement, so the price was hovering around 12k. I may have ducked into my quest funds, but it was worth it. ^.^

I'm glad they're making more Egyptian items, but also gotta agree the head could have looked better. Makes me think of the paper mache head from the Egyptian Book of the Dead special... stare

Makes me think of the paper mache head from the Egyptian Book of the Dead special... stare rofl Now that I look at it, it looks kinda like a cyborg Anubis. I could totally see the cosplay now- "The Egyptian God Anubis in the year 3042, sworn to protect a dying Earth as the humans flee the planet in search of a new home, piloted by Number Name, a young boy enlisted in the ranks of Earthforce..." It'd be like The Mummy, Gundam Wing, Babylon 5, and (insert exodus-from-earth-type sci-fi show here) all rolled up into one devastating eye-burning run. gonk burning_eyes

A rather futuristic Moses, asks some leader to let his people go and wonders through space for 40 years and waits for the non believers to die out ... I'll shut up now sweatdrop lol
