I just thought of something cool: Any characters that are taken out, (which I hope there aren't) will have a "death" in the story mode. Take, for example, Dr. Mario if he is removed, then in Mario's story mode, Mario would be about to die and then Dr. Mario jumps in and takes a blast. This causes him to turn into a trophy and warp away. The Master Hand crushes him later. Similar with other characters.

That would be pretty cool.

Remember.... No Nintendo character "dies," they simply "feint."

Even then, I doubt this would end up happening. How would you explain the death of "Young Link?" And isn't Dr.Mario just a side profession of Mario? How could he die and not die at the same time?

Well, how could you have three bowsers fighting at the same time? I don't thin realism is a problem here. I wouldn't say they "died" but destroyed. Which would explain IF they weren't playable. IF.

Three Boswers taking each other on is Vs. Mode. We're talking about characters dying in Story Mode so there should still be a sense of continuity.

Why not make it so the alternate forms of some characters (like Dr. Mario) were kidnapped by those purple dudes, and even the ones not returning? That would be a better approach than saying they were destroyed.

Congrats on having the most ignorant post I've read today.

While you're entitled to your opinion on clone characters, they are in fact, NOT a waste of space.

Dr. Mario is a tad slower than Mario; but his projectiles are stronger, and has stronger hits, along with a longer cape.

Falco, is Top Tier according to the most recent tier lists. His laser stuns, he has one of the only true "spikes" in the game, and his shine+dair can destroy any noob in seconds.

Pichu... is pichu. Not much to say here.

Roy, while slower, isn't quite as strong as Marth, but certainly has potential. I doubt he'd ever make it up the tier bracket as high as marth has, but he is by no means, a useless character.

And then you get to Ganondorf.

Ganondorf has one of the most unique movesets given to a "clone" in melee. His neutral 'a' attack is fantastic jab that comes out fast, stuns, has great knockback, and is a great set up for combos. His ftilt is a great move for edgeguarding, and if you use an angled ftilt, is faster than most ftilts in the game. His dair is one of the most damaging attacks in the game, next to the utilt, Warlock punch, Knee, Falcon punch, and Zelda kicks. His recovery is near limitless, depending upon how high he is in association with the horizon of the stage. And then you get to the greatest edgeguarding move ever (certainly one of them).

The Uair.

The Uair, while used in a forward direction, has high knockback, and a large range that goes over Ganondorf's head, to just below his body. While you would certainly never consider this, but facing away from your opponent, and using the Uair in a reverse direction, the lower portion of Ganondorf's foot will hit the opponent at a downward angle, resulting in an easy edgehog. I'm sure this is way above your head, so I'll stop confusing you.

In closing; Clones offer a lot more variety on movesets that the original character could never offer.

Fox can never Pillar like Falco.

Falcon can't reverse Uair like Ganondorf.

Mario can't do as much damage with his fireballs like Doc.

Marth can't do as much damage with his counter like Roy.

And Pikachu.... will never be as cute as Pichu.

Good day sir.

Oh.

Petey and King Boo are lame characters. They're filler characters for games like Mario Party and Mario Kart. Like Waluigi.

xp That about sums it up.

And granted, today's update (tuesday), did show Petey, but I wouldn't count on him being playable. He'll most likely be a "Master Hand" type character, if that.
