So, this thread for the writers of the guild, because I've noticed there are a small handful of us here. I figured it would be nice for us to have a common place to post our stories, poems, fanfics and so on.

Or, we can talk about the many trials and tribulations that come with writing and what we like and don't like about writing.

All things writing related are welcome here. Go!

i've written quite a bit of poetry and a ton of song lyrics. unfortunately, i haven't had any inspiration as of late to write anything. i hate writer's block. scream

I wish there was an option for more than one because I write fanfic, short stories and novels. I love to write. I'm just curious, does anybody here participate in NaNoWriMo? This will be my third year. 2005 I made it but last year due to health I failed. This year I'll make it!

I might suggest in the future we make an entire subforum for writing and such. I think that would be a good idea. mrgreen

If people are interested, of course.

I attempted it once a few years ago, but I used to get distracted with other stories pretty easily and would never finish in time. gonk

I like to think I'm a bit more focused these days, so I may try next year.

Curses! You've uncovered my sinister plot to see if there was enough for such a subforum to work! *flees in his rocket*

I think the subforum idea is excellent. I will consult Doressa when I get a chance.

I guess I'll post one of mine up here. The beginning is rocky but i liked the end. It's about the very complicated relationship I had with my grandmother and then later on with one of my exes who was an alcoholic.

Grandma’s Legacy

The fumbling ballerina stumbles on grass
Trying to show to you her lack grace steps
Casually you dismiss her worthless show
This was our relationship over the years we grow
Still how I twist and sway to meet your whim
And every time I fall down, you’re unimpressed

Held up to the standard of my cousins
Those green copper statues rotting in the sun
My virgin marble never could compare
When tarnished metal was thy lady’s fair

It had to be me all those years
In unseen absent qualities
The tiniest imperfection
Is a disgraceful flaw
Magnified in your heartless
Scrutiny

Now I’m standing at your bedside
Fairy wings upon my back
It’s Halloween and you’re fading
Eighteen years a gift for bonding
Wasted on your inability to accept me
You mumble out incoherent words
And you die a stranger to me

Grandma now someone else holds your place
Watching me bend until my body breaks
Mocking my feeble attempts to win their love
Are you still disappointed in me in the land above?
Tonight was the first time for you I really cried
Because your legacy lived on after you died.

Wow! You're very prolific. What sorts of fanfics do you write (i.e. which movies, series, etc have you written about)?

Thanks Headhunter, what sorts of genres do you write in?

Action oriented Sci Fi and Fantasy mainly, but I've started a series or sorts that deals with the supernatural (vampires, lycanthrope, demons, the living dead, cryptids ect) in a modern day setting. I'm currently outlining the second story in that setting now, as well as planning a story set in the Star Wars universe but with my own original characters.

I also have a fantasy novella that's about 50 pages or so in but has been on hiatus for the past few months. I'm going to return to it soon. sweatdrop

I enjoy writing. I wont say love if only because half of the stories that I have written ended up only about 3/4 of the day done because of writers block.

I have finished a few fan fics (ages ago) and recently I had a spurt of inspiration for a short story that I wrote for a friend, but nothing to really tell anyone about.

Well, let's see, I've written Pokemon (Team Rocket-centered) and Yu-Gi-Oh! fanfics mostly. I have attempted and scrapped Days of Our Lives fanfics and have written in my head at least one scene with Star Wars and Star Trek Voyager and Next Generation (that is one scene each not one combining them). blaugh

Writers Block is EVIL.

My big issue is writing slow parts in stories.

And I always liked Team Rocket (lil bro watched Pokemon before school). I thought Jesse and James had a better love story than Rose and Jack in Titanic (no offense to titanic).

~ My Cup Runnth Over ~

darkness swallows the soul.
it enters in with such tenderness
with a rendering forth of my trust
then in blink I am empty

silent screams thrust from the soul
it cries of something foreboding
empty is my mind. love releases me and the spirit is hollow
the chimes sing as darkness swallows me whole

I love the line "then in blink I am empty"

This is a very powerful piece, is this related to personal experiences?
