One of the only names I can think of that is HILLARIOUS in Japanese is 'Gary'-- this is because 'Geri' means 'diarrhea' in Japanese.

I know you are talking about weird names, but my name isn't so bad. It's Iona and it's the name of an island in Scotland. So in Japanese my name would be said with an E not i as in english. If this post is not right here I am sorry.

あたしの名前はLorelleですが、日本語でロレールだ。日本人に、とっても難しい名前と思ってるよ。 atashi no namae wa Lorelle desu ga, nihongo de roreeru da. Nihonjin ni, tottemo muzukashii namae to omotteru yo.
My name is Lorelle, but in Japanese it is Roreeru. For the Japanese, it's a very difficult name I think.
(Note; for beginner's, the Japanese I have used here is very informal. You only use it with people you know well~! I just like to use it when practicing, because I need more practic with it than polite Japanese.)
