Random thought... we all love to bauble. Why not do it with gaia items to pass the time?
Share your gaian treasures--tell your stories, play, or just display what you've "won" in your adventures on Gaia

Cool thought. I have nothing but would like to see others. I wonder if we could come up with something SCA?

Yeah, as long as it's at least somewhat SCA or medieval related, cool. If not, please take it elsewhere.

Here's a flying stab at being a period pimp. Lots of the ladies appreciate a man who's bold enough to wear a kilt. Even more bonus nachos if you're willing to go 'regimental'.

A highly regarded professor at my university regularly wears a kilt. He also has short, spiky shocking blue hair and is at least 40+ years old. Yet he pulls the look off better than most would be punk teenagers. On top of it all, he is one of the sweetest professors I know. He remembered me by name after one introduction and once carried my roomate up the stairs to our doorm room after she fainted in his lab.
I wonder if he'd be interested in the SCA...he's a mycology professor, science, not history, but strikes me as being of the right temperment for a SCAdian. Hmmm...to bad I haven't had a chance to be in his building for about two years.

Kilts actually aren't that bad, once you get used to the feel of them. Hell, my Dad isn't even in the SCA, but he never wears jeans any more. He's one of the many kilt-maniacs from X Marks The Scot. mrgreen

Sir_Catherine X Marks The Scot? I've not heard of this before. It's a very kilt-centric message board. I forget if it's www.xmarksthescot.com or .net or whatever, but he loves it. They talk about everything from traditional kilts to Utilikilts on there.

Its a kilt company located in Seattle, Washington. They have about 6(?) different styles of kilts and their first "model" was one that was made out of canvas that you could pretty much wear anywhere. Like the kilts answer to jeans, hence Utilikilts. ^_^ http://utilikilts.com/
