Alex wrapped his arms around Yuri, keeping the girl close. Neither said anything, though neither really had to. With his free hand, Alex drew a symbol in the air, the same one he'd been drawing since yesterday, and tried to figure out where he'd seen it before. He knew it was from somewhere, otherwise he wouldn't even know about it.
"You know. . .there's a legend attached to that symbol. They say that the only time it was ever used was by a demon woman who was fighting a human magician," Yuri explained, watching the boy. "What it did, it doesn't say. But the demon woman died, and a couple years after, so did the magician."
"Gee, that makes me feel so much better," Alex said sarcastically. Yuri laughed, and he did too, for a little bit. Then, his ears rung again, and out of reaction he had his right hand on his head, covering his right ear as he tried to get rid of it.
"What's wrong?" Yuri asked, a little concerned and looking up at the boy now.
Alex had his eyes shut for a minute longer before the ringing stopped and he opened the again, leaving his hand where it was. He looked back at Yuri, noticing her concern before smiling a little. "Just a small headache. Probably just. . .tired. . ." Almost as soon as he said it, Alex fell back into the bed, passing out from exhaustion.
Yuri looked at the boy, more than surprised. He almost never slept, either because he couldn't or didn't need to. "Maybe he's finally catching up with his rest?" she pondered before shrugged, lying next to him and looking up at the ceiling, waiting for him to wake up.
