I think I already figured out what Season 4 will be, with my mom's help: The boat is not Penny's as it said, and the people on the boat are the same people with a helicopter that Desmond saw in his vision. The helicopter people will take the weak people first, meaning women and children (that's the stereotype of weakness), which does, in fact, include Claire and aaron-- not to mention, Sun. We'll most likely meet new people, and we'll find out who it was died and who Kate was referring to in the flashforwards ["he'll be wondering where I am", or something like that]. Kate and Jack, along with some other poeple and probably all the men, will be in the second cargoload. Or, would have been. Desmond will get a hold of Jack somehow and tell him that it wasn't Penny's boat and therefore they can't trust the helicopter people, but by then it will already be too late for Claire's group. The people on the beach (Jin, Juliet, Sawyer, Sayid, etc) won't be taken, either. Probably there will be a struggle of some sort and at least one person will die, who will be the person we saw in the coffin. It's probably either Locke or Ben, because Jack said it wasn't a friend or a family member. The "he" Kate mentioned might be Sawyer, or maybe she had a son. Who knows, could be both. Those are just my two bits, you don't necessarily need to agree with them.

Well I say that Desmond tells Jack, but Jack ignores him like he did Locke. I think the people who "save" them are more interested in the island and having it to themselves. I think Jack recognizes that later and thats why he wants to go back. This constant worry leads to his drinking and addiction to prescription medicine. Also maybe another reason why he wants to go back is because he seems to be a different person on that island.

Well we can say for certain the events between them contacting the boat and getting off the island will be the focus of season four (yeah bit of a no-duh). Personally I think Locke is the body in the coffin. People would of probably attended Desmond's funeral. Plus I doubt Jack would of expected Kate to be at Ben's funeral. So it's safe to say what Jack pulled out of the newspaper was an obituary and he was calling Kate.

EDIT: The "he" is probably Saywer.

i think that the boat has something to do with Mittelwerk.

if you don't know what i'm talking about, visit the LOST Experience portal at Lostpedia to understand.

it has all the information. might take a while to look through, but its worth it.

there is some information on DHARMA in this. and Mittelwerk says something in the Sri Lanka video about how DHARMA failed, but if the food was dropped by the Hanso Foundation while the Losties were on the island, then Mittelwerk would only know by having someone go to the island.

which is who i think Naomi works for.

oh, and Mittelwerk is one freaky guy. at the end of the Experience, we find out he wants to kill 30% of the world's population to 'save humanity' by perfecting some virus.

I think that the person in the coffin was either Locke or Juliet because I don't see even Jack crying over Ben. But I don't think he/she died on island. I think the future flashes are several years in the future. I even considered the possibility that the person in the coffin was Sawyer. If Sawyer and Kate broke up badly, that could explain why she didn't want to go to his funeral, and no one else on the island likes him.

Also, I hope Kate doesn't go home to Sawyer in the future flashes. Not because I have anything against him, it's just too expected. I'm hoping it will be someone we don't expect: Desmond or Sayid maybe (or Hurley xd ) then we will have the rest of the show for that relationship (whatever it is) to develop. That would be more interesting to me than an already established relationship.

Interesting to think that Naomi would work for them.

I'm really hoping that Juliet is the one in the casket. I think that Jack would expect Kate to go to the funeral, but she wouldn't want to go. I'm really hoping that it's not Locke or Sawyer.

I'm thinking the person in the coffin is Michael. Jack said he wasn't a friend or family. That fits Ben and some other characters but it Michael fits. It would also explain why Kate didn't want to go since he killed Libby and Ana Lucia. As for the rest of the stuff, dunno. I'll just have to see. mrgreen

You're missing a key element though, no one went to the funeral. It Michael died, Walt definitely would have been there, therefore ruling out Michael.

@Scarlet- I doubt it's Hurley. First, he is too big to even fit in that coffin, and second he's a very likeable guy who still has family so I'm sure Kate would have gone, and if not Kate atleast his mother would be there. Desmond's got Penny, so someone would have showed up at his funeral and I don't think anyone hates Sayid, so Kate probably would have gone.

Personally I think it's Ben. His whole life has been on the island, therefore he has no friends to come to his funeral.

You've got a good point with Walt, but I'm still running with the idea that it's Michael. I know Walt would have gone if he could, but we don't really know what happened since they left the island. Maybe Walt couldn't go...

Ben's another good option but I don't think Jack would go if it was Ben. He was really pissed with Ben and I don't think that has changed.

Besides, I think the reaction fits Michael more. They were all friendly towards Michael before he betrayed them and I can see Jack giving Michael the benefit of the doubt since he did it for Walt. He did mention they weren't friends, but I do think Jack kind of sympathized with Michael's situation more than Kate. I can see her being unable to forgive him and thus, not caring he's dead.

I also thought that it would be Michael in the coffin, though I could see Locke or Ben as well. If it was Michael, he and Walt could have had a falling out - after all, Walt didn't want to leave the island, it was the only place he felt normal. I think that Jack hated Locke and Ben for the same reasons in the end, for refusing to let him leave the island, and for protecting the island above the other people. They both also claimed to just be doing what's best for everyone, but never offer to explain why, which can be quite frustrating. Years later, Jack could finally see that they were right, regret his choices and want to go back.

I don't think it's Sawyer. I don't really know if Sawyer would go back (And judging from the first episode of the season, it seems like quite a few people did stay... "Are they still alive?" - what that guy asked Hurley), he didn't have any big reasons to. I think by the end of season three he realized that Kate was using him, so I doubt they end up together.

Melissa Ivory - It's an interesting theory, but I don't know if the Lost Experience is considered canon with the show, I thought that the plot lines deviated a little...

I'm hoping it's Juliette In the coffin twisted *ducks rotten vegitables thrown by Juliette fans* Iv'e been waiting for her to kick over for quite some time. (I could go on for reasons for hours so I'll skip that part) She does fit the bill because no one came except Jack, Kate wasn't there (for obvious reasons if I'm right) and Jack was pretty rattled. Before everyone say's her sister might come I have a theory for that. Her sister probably found out what Juliette had to do to get home (probably sign a lot of peoples lives and safety over) and would wan't nothing to do with her. Or guilt might catch up and she might not contact her sister again. As for Kate being with another man, think about it she never could make up her mind between Jack and Sawyer so Juliette made it for her. Plus when the guy ask's if he's friend or family and he say's neither it work's too. If your in love your more then Friends and not exactly Family

ps. can anyone find any implications as to which gender the person in the coffin is?
