When I walk to college I walk along a stour (like a stream but a bit bigger) and it reminds me of the River Nile. So, how I hear you ask:
Annual Flood:
During the winter it rains so much here! The stour rises about a couple of feet and can (and has happened) over flow. When it's summer and not raining so much (or at all) the water almost drains completely.
Fertile soil:
During the spring and summer when the stour drains you can see a thick layer of soil where the stour has rose so much, it's like it has brought the fertile soil with it as it flows.
Life along the bank:
There are so many reeds and grasses beside the stour. When the stour drains weeds and lillies pop up. The lillies remind me of the lotus flower.
Cateracts:
I don't think I spelt this right, lol. Right next to the train station there is a mini water fall and it is quite rapid.
Shape:
Ok, in my imagination, the shape of the stour and Nile look similar xd
