I didn't see anywhere food translations. So I thought I might give it a try and see what I know and what others know.

Nori - seaweed, like for sushi

sushi - raw fish, correct me if I'm wrong, I know there's some other word like susho or something along that line.

gohan - rice, steamed?

Just one correction:

Candy is spelled kyandii, I think.

And some contributions:

Onigiri - riceball
Sakana - fish
Harumaki - Spring roll ^.^
Ocha - Black tea (I think?)
Juusu - Juice
Gyunyuu - Milk (also Miruku)

Sushi can be many things. It is not always raw. For example, Makizushi is a kind of rolled sushi. Sashimi is the version of sushi that is raw fish.

okay. Here we go

Sushi~ is not raw. it is the vinegared rice used in this awesome food. yes raw fish is at times used but it isnt always and just raw. you can put just about anything in there including unagi.

unagi~ eel. i prefer it grilled. unadon~eel over cooked rice

kome~ un-cooked rice

candy~ you can say it the katakana way. you can say it the Japanese way: ame. The intonation on this is different from ame for rain.

milk~ miruku works as does gyunuu.

yakitori~grilled chicken

yakiniku~ grilled beef
. this more applies to a sytle of eating. it has been adopted from the Koreans. Basically you go to a Yakiniku restaurant and order your food raw. In Japan you cook it yourself. The cow tongue, beef strips, veggies... lots of stuff. Order your beer and get your bibimbap (Korean dish).

*Check out this game (in Japanese) so you know what I am talking about: http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/yakiniku.php click the brown and yellow button and quickly cook the beef on the grill. If you burn it you loose time. Happy Yakiniku Time!

chanko nabe~ the awesome and calorie filled food/soup our Sumo heros eat!

nabe~ its a particular pot simmering soups are cooked in but nowadays when you hear nabe you know you are gonna eat a hearty soup. filled with meats and or vegetables. YUM.

manjuu~ Japanese style bun filled eith azuki-bean paste.

gyoza- I dont remember how to say it in Chinese but it is pot stickers or dumplings.

~okay. i will stop now. i dont want people hating me for long-god-modding-posts.
