For untold millennia, Vampires and Werewolves have waged a brutal and bloody war for supremacy. Each side felt their cause to be a just one, and neither was willing to give up a fight that has lasted for centuries and claimed countless innocents. Though the Vampires and Werewolves were different in every aspect, they shared one important detail…the need for Human lives. Without the Human’s blood, the Vampires could not survive. Without fresh and willing Human bodies, the Werewolves could not sustain their population.
Both sides preyed on their terrified Human subjects for food, for pleasure and to build up their armies. Finally, tired of the tyranny that had been brought down on them by the cruel and greedy Vampires and Werewolves, the Human appealed to the gods. Disgusted and incensed by the Vampire and Werewolves’ impertinence, the gods issued forth a curse that would forever change the face of the ongoing feud between them. In one mighty swoop, every Vampire and Werewolf was divinely branded with a symbol. If they broke the rules, the symbol would ignite, sending their souls screaming down into hellfire.
The Curse: Vampires and Werewolves could no longer take by force what should only be given. They can persuade, seduce and lure their human targets down into the darkness with them, but if a Vampire bit and converted a human into a vampire without the human’s consent, then they would be forever damned. The exact same went to werewolves. If they bit an unsuspecting human and poisoned them with the Curse of the Wolf, they, too, would be damned.
This way, it was assured that Humans could live in relative peace. Only a willing individual could be converted into a Vampire or a Werewolf, which severely put a damper on their plans for worlds domination. However, neither side is willing to give up the fight so easily…
