My fangirlish qualities take over when I see the sequel to the show I loved, and all the original characters aren't in it.

Of course, I've seen YGO. Perhaps I'm a little too obsessed with it, but I'm more of a fan of the manga's beginning and the Memory World arc. The duelist storyline in the middle doesn't interest me much. Instead of purchasing the Duelist manga volumes, I just got them from the library, but I lost interest in reading them during the Battle City arc. One thing that I do like in the manga is how Seto is a complete psycho. whee
The idea of GX scared me, but I decided to watch it and then I could back up my claims of it being bad with examples. Although I did end up liking Chazz so I continued watching it for him, but that waned when he got all lovey dovey for Alexis. Once season two started I was unable to watch it regularly so I was totally lost when I tried getting back into it.

I remember something now!
In the Hellsing anime, in the very last episode, Incognito summons Set to destroy the world, and winds up battling Alucard and levelling most of London in the process. It wasn't very accurate at all, just another excuse for more wanton and mindless slaughter and destruction, and Set pretty much got pwn3d by Alucard in the end...but Set was there. That's an Egyptian influence...isn't it? (if only in name...) sweatdrop
Yeah...I completely forgot about that. Mainly because I like the Hellsing manga instead of the anime. (The OVA's supposed to be good, but I haven't seen it yet...)
I wouldn't recommend Hellsing for most people, though. It's got a lot of blood, gore, violence, language, etc. ...but what do you expect from a series about vampires? sweatdrop

My best friend got me into anceint Egypt, and YGO just encouraged my love of it. I was such a YGO fangirl- wrote tons of YGO fanfiction on ff.net.
