I know I'm a horrible lurker most of the time, but I do read most of the threads.
I was wondering if everyone could give me some feedback of an event flyer.
----------------------------------------------------------------- The Blackthorne Revel
The Return to Innocence
Come reclaim your childhood, Save your children’s. Explore a world of wonderment and be a part of our return to youth!! Games and fun for all ages.
This year the Revel is themed for your inner child.
Let the wonder of youth claim you once again as you participate in parades, classes and games.
Show us your inner Blackthorne and be rewarded.
Show us your outer Blackthorne and shock your friends.
Come and rediscover childhood at it’s finest! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The date and URL are at the bottom.

Sounds like fun! But I would also list the the types of classes for added incentive.

It sounds like an enjoyable event, and something lighthearted is always good; there are enough "heavy", intense events out there already. I would agree that a general description of the classes to be offered would be a good teaser...

I would like more information on such an event if I were deciding whether or not to attend. What sort of classes are there to be geared towards an "inner child", what games will there be that are both childlike and yet captivating for an adult, what is an inner or outer Blackthorn? Being not of your area, the last of those questions might be a matter of area knowledge, not something you need to explain to those who truly might attend.
As far as serious events go, I dont' think I've ever been to one! Autumn Rose may not be comedic, but it is light hearted and easy going. Bardic Madness was songs, stories and legends, how could that be weighty and dull? The Northshield Dance Seminar was also fun and entertaining and Pie Snit was just plain silly at times. I've yet to attend W&W, Pensic, Gulf Wars, Crown Tourney or a Corination.
