Nom-de-Plume Marcious Pharoe I know you loved him and had been with him for a long time, but for the most part do you think you might be able to let him go? I wouldn't even be able to contemplate an answer to that today. I think I'm still in the shock/denial stage Although I'm aparently not the only one going through this today. the GD is riddled with valentine's teenaged angst. wow I feel so grade 8 girl. This isn't an 8th grade thing though. Besides, GD is also filled with the same troll topics, sex questions, and chatterbox-lost goobs =P.
I know a relationship that long needs time to think over, but over all, I'm the kind of person that feels, no matter how long you've been together, just the way he did that to cut ties alone should be a good enough reason to just forget about him. ....I'm not saying like, leave wit the kids and never see him again, but just not forgive him or think of him as any kind of a person. If he was anything of a man, he would have at least talked it out with you somehow and broke this gently to you. Instead HE acted like the 8th grader and sent a stupid poem.
I don't know the whole situation, and I don't know you or your past with him. But my only advice is, don't think to take him back. If by some chance he realizes he needs you (or just comes back to his senses), just remember how he gave you up and used the most childish and lowest way to say he wants a divorce. That, and how he could think of a 25 year relationship as some little thing. After 25 years and you think you can just drop a relationship, then you don't deserve another one or the one you already had...

Thanks for everyone's concern, He phoned last night and my daughter said words to him that I told her she couldn't say til she got her drivers permit. (figure you need to be able to cuss out the other drivers) I didn't want to talk to him I asked her to pass that along.
I just need some time to process this life altering state, so I'm just stepping back and percolating, trying to figure out what happens now.
I guess that's what I get for getting all smug, thought I was better somehow for making a long lasting marriage work. *shrug* way to get knocked off my high horse.
My main goal now is to not slip into some life numbing depression and suck it up princess and keep going.
Which I will do - we have a saying in my family "the only day Mc******* was beat, was the day he wasn't there." I won't let this beat me either.

:: hugs Nom-de-Plume::
That's the spirit, I realize it's hard, and that people you don't really know in real life saying that things will get better. . . isn't what you need.
I know I haven't gone through something that big on that large of a scale (your boyfreind/(person you shared an office at work with) breaking up with you on New Years eve just doesn't compare. . . ) this.
If you need some one to rant to, etc, I'm available via PM. Good luck, and it's nice to hear that your daughter is at least supporting you in this.
If it means anything, it looks like this whole guild is rooting for you biggrin
