Today, I was listening to Rabbi Lapin in an interview on someone's show - James Kennedy?? anyway he was saying that what Christians don't understand about Jews is that 1) most Jewish Israelis do not believe in God eek and 2) most Jews overall do not know Scripture eek eek
At university back East, I attended Shabbat in a nice Orthodox rabbi's home...he definitely knew Scripture, and would have loved to argue religion if I had actually been armed that way. I thought he represented the majority. But, if the majority of those claiming to be Jewish are ignorant and/or worse, unbelieving...ai! What a tragedy. I guess that answered my Q about where did the happy go. No God = no happiness.
I once stood on the hill where Jesus wept over Jerusalem, where he said "I wish I could gather you under my wings as a hen does its chicks, but you would not" (paraphrased) More than ever, with my limited understanding, I can empathize.
I guess people here do too.

The Apostle Shaul (Paul) told Timothy to study to show yourself approved to G-d, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.
Sadly many people both Jew and Gentile don't believe in G-d or have a warped sense of Who He is or what His Word says.
Very good post Cherry!
