i just wanted to comment on something that happened today in english class. we're reading farenhite 451 so we were looking at the ten top banned books from 1990 to 2005. one of them was a book called
Daddy's Roomate.
Our teacher bodly stated that the roomate was a boy. and knowing my mind (and my friends who in my class mind) we were cracking up inside our heads. we looked at each other and mouthed the words yaoi and cracked up again. the entire class just made weird looks, ah, the joyness of banned books! so yeah. thats all i had to say. ja ne.

Yes... I'm surprised Bundori didn't make the list... (it was... pretty graphic... my friend Danny can attest to that. AND HE"S STRAIGHT...)
Anyway, banned cause the christian right got wind I bet... or just cause it's a teacher student thing right?

It sounds like a book released in the late 60-70's and banned due to its Yaoi-ish-ness...

I remember hearing about that one. I think it was last year when my class was discussing A Seperate Peace and my teacher said something about it.

hrn... actually to Bishie-boy's post, I looked up A Seperate Peace on wikipedia and it looks really good. o,o' *ended up putting it on the "to read" list of his* ^^; thanks?
ah, I funny story, reminds me of a conversation I had with one of my foster brothers once.

Isn't it ironic that they ban the most meaningless stuff, and stuff they don't ban have worse stuff in it?
Apparently, the "A Wrinkle in Time" series was banned. I think it was because, "it had MAGIC! D8". But Alice in Wonderland, which did not make it on the banned list, has OPIUM SMOKING CATERPILLARS. Um, hypocritical much?
Yes, gay>opium in horridness.
(I like Lewis Carrol. Very much actually, as he is teh awesome. However, I just find it funny that nobody's thought to ban the book yet because of some of the stuff in there.)

I shall go to the Library of Congress and look for it there!
They have a copy of every book ever published in the US! That means they must have a few couple aisles all about yaoi!
I wonder what so so bad about it that it got banned! It was probably nothing!
