I saw this book called Cravings. I read it and it seems that it may a small addition before Incubus Dreams. You may want to get this book and read the chapter done on Anita. It seems of some small importance, the thing is, I don't know whether it's an excerpt from Incubus Dreams, I slightly doubt it, but you never know.
VERY BIG SPOILER UP AHEAD!
It's about the wedding for Larry and Tammy and something small happens after that....I assume that a triumverant is formed between Nat., Damien, and Anita. I was wondering if this is an excerpt from Incubus Dreams, but if it isn't then I strongly suggest that you ppl read it before Incubus Dreams.

Cravings, or rather Blood Upon My Lips (the Anita Blake excerpt), is actually compiled of bits and pieces of the first few chapters. Chapters 1-17, if I remember correctly. Most of it reads exactly like it does in Incubus Dreams, but there are also changes and little things added into the actual book that are not in Cravings. So Cravings is pretty much a spoiler of ID, that is, in fact, part of ID itself.

That is what my understanding of it is too. I haven't read Cravings, but I have read ID and from what I have seen others say about the Anita bit of the book it doen't match exactly, but it is just spoilers from ID.

Cravings is basically bits and pieces of Incubus Dreams, except tied together differently than in the actual book. Everything that happened in Cravings were excerpts from ID, except for some of the middle parts.
For instance, in Cravings, the phone call regarding the Coalition?
In ID, that call is detailed, and the reader can actually hear/read what is being said.
She also leaves the wedding earlier in ID, though I believe she comes back. (eep! eek it's already getting foggy...)
Basically, take the first... I guess half, or maybe a third, of ID.
Take some of the juicier bits. String them together and end at a cliffhanger, and you have Cravings. whee
