My Horn Mouthpiece always has a nickle taste to it. But It tastes like minty alchol after I clean it. Kinda like Mouthwash I guess. I haven't played oboe or bassoon in a long time, but my bassoon mouthpiece was plastic (ew) so it didn't really have a taste. My clarinet reeds always tasted sweet, like sugar cane or tea. I've never really tasted my flute or piccolo mouthpieces. I may have to go try. lol. I'm mainly a percussionist though and I kinda don't have a mouth piece for Xylophone. lol

Okay, My Baritone's mouthpiece is a metal, but it taste like... milk?
How silly, last time I used it, I drank a bottle of milk and It poured to my mouthpiece. yeah, like Melon milk. (melon, not watermelon) And if you try to play a high notes with it, the taste change onto 100 years old cheese. You can think it...
