Watashi no namae ha Remrie desu. Don't you dare try to say 'Remrie' using a Japanese accent, the laws of physics do not allow it. 'Rem' is much easier; or Sephroe.
FYI I'm female in real life so Kanajo, Watashi, Atashi etc I'll be using.
Atashi wa totemo rimitiddo no Nihango. I'm extremely limited in Nihango (Japanese) so I do not know how to converse using it. But I know how to count to 100+, various shapes, objects, pronouns, verbs, etc, but variable. So while I know kuruma (car), I don't know any of the parts that make up the car.
My inspriration to learn is I want to be able to give shows to the Japanese students who visit from Japan for their field trips to our zoo and be a positive influence on them as a white (shiro) American.
Many of my friends are Japanese imigrants so it's always interesting to be around them around parts of L.A as well as possibly visit Japan in the future and maybe teach English over there.
Part hobby, part interest, but I think the fundamental is despite my 100% American / white europian background I identify with Japanese people, not the mainstream junk but the Japanese as human beings.
