I was glad that they did this episode. Open minded people will get an insight to the style. . . As for the models, they're stupid and uncultured. I hated how disrespectful they were to something that was different, and I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that the style is Japanese. If they were in Paris and told to wear that stuff, it would be cool. If it's Japanese, it's nerdy. I hate Americans. It's like a fight to be a better man. IT'S OKAY TO BE A FRILLY GIRL!!! Geez! We aren't men, and we shouldn't dress and act like them. We should be proud to be elegant young ladies (or princes, if there's any guys here). . . . Sorry, ranting happens. . .

You also have to keep in mind that those shows are very heavily edited to make you think a certain way about the girls involved. They cut out anything they think contradicts the "personality" they want to portray to the audience, which means that anything uninteresting is snipped out. Catty bitches are far more interesting than sweet little princesses.
Also, those girls generally get no more than four hours of sleep a night because of the presence of camera crews and constant harassment on the part of their handlers. You're bound to end up bitchy, crazy and cranky on that amount of sleep, and that's going to reflect upon how you respond to things, regardless of your nationality. ^^;
That particular season was really nasty in that the models were not treated very respectfully in Japan, even by the authorities. They were arrested and then held in quarantine for about 48 hours, without sleep and with minimal sustenance, because no one had informed them as to which kind of Visa they were traveling under. Not exactly the best way to start things off in a new country, to be honest.

That would really suck. I'd just drop out of the show if something like that happened to me.

One girl did about two years ago, which is how all of that came to light. She was under so much stress that she simply quit. Of course, they edited it to look like she had a temper tantrum and flounced, but she went out on other shows and told her side of things, which is when OTHER girls came forward.
The part about the girls being arrested and held by the Japanese authorities is actually in the end-of-season extras for Cycle 3.

I love how 2 of the girls were asking this lady were Meta was and they were standing right next to it, and then they walked right past it and kept on walking. Lots of other stupid things said and done too. And the models were pretty rude and disrespectful. The outfits were pretty awful, but I sorta liked Amanda's though; I thought she should have won.

The girl who won the challenge made me anger stare She was like 'I picked the most mismatched things I could find' The trip was wasted on them and they were so rude... cry

@Kelesrael: I agree D:
Though I have to admit it was funny watching them run around almost in circles after one of them made the comment on the models (for examples) looking like 'they got dressed in the dark'.
