Avalanche had been keeping an eye on the weather from up on the mountain that he lived on. Winter was starting to give way to spring but it looked like mother nature wanted to get in one last hurrah. He could feel it in the air as the temperature began to drop and the heavy clouds began to form. Normally he would just take shelter in the cave he lived in on the mountain but his raccoon familiar, Glacier, had headed out a couple of days ago to forage for from food.

Since she hadn't come back he decided he would brave the impending blizzard to find her and bring her home. He fortunately knew where she had planned to travel to, down the mountain and little ways away to the east. He also figured that while he was out getting Glacier he would warn any other Soquili about the storm if he ran into anyone else. He made sure his cloak was on with the hood up before leaving his home. The storm was still building, not yet ready to hit the Kawani lands, which made his trip down the mountain easy. It was as he began to head towards the east where Glacier would be that the blizzard began.

It started with just a few snow flakes falling here and there. Soon the wind began to pick up, the temperature began to plunge, and the snow began to really fall. He only encountered a few travelers as he headed towards the forest that Glacier was supposed to be at and he warned them of the clearly happening storm, urging them to hurry and seek shelter. It wasn't long before he was alone in the snow. "Glacier! Glacier! Are you here Glacier?" He called out as he reached the forest where his familiar was supposed to be.

Wandering around the forest he continued to call for Glacier but still hadn't really seen any signs of the raccoon. As the snow began to build he wondered if he should take his own advice and find shelter for now. He could always search for her once the blizzard was done raging. He wasn't quite ready to give up the search for her just yet but decided to start keeping an eye out for good spots to take shelter at.

It was while he was checking out one spot that he heard a snap as a branch broke followed by a soft 'plop' sound. His head whipped around and he saw a bright blue against the snow as his familiar wiggled on her back in a snow drift. He let out a soft chuckle and walked over to her. "Jeez Glacier.... I've been calling for you for a while now and instead of answering you decide to fall from a tree?" He teased.

Glacier shot a glare at Avalanche as she struggled to get upright. "I only heard you just recently and apparently my voice isn't loud enough to be heard over this wind!" She complained finally getting to her feet, "What are you doing down here anyways? You usually hole up in the cave on the mountain when a storm hits."

"I came because someone still hadn't returned home." He shot back which earned him a soft 'oh' from Glacier, "Now then.... I saw a little ways back a good spot that we can hole up in until the storm passes. Hop on my back and I'll take us there." The little raccoon hopped up on his back, burrowing under his cloak, as it was much easier for her to ride up there than to try to walk through the snow. It didn't take long to make it to the safe spot where they would then ride out the rest of the blizzard. (wc: 632)
