[1990s Classroom] Before adding up the total for Both JumpStart Assessment Test eras, its worth mentioning that Edutainment Minimum, Middle and or Maximum scoring along with the Translation to Accuracy, Rating and Rank differ from Game series to game series. Since you have edutainment games from... = Knowledge Adventure = Davidson = The Learning Company = Edmark just to name a few examples...
While some Edutainment companies during the 1990s and other companies looking to expand such as... = Broderbund = MECC = Disney = Microsoft = Scholastic may or may not have a score calculation...
In fact, you're wondering the question "How Popular were these Edutainment Software Series as we had no idea how they did in Retailers during the 1990s." Any software considered educational back then in those eras, sold a lot to schools while some were made for home use. Like the Windows Server Operating Systems, it was often under multi-user license.
So lets say you have classroom with 2 computers in the 1990s, and you buy a copy of the Math Blaster Universe School Edition for the classroom, instead of 3-4 retail releases around $30 to $40, you get a single installer CD in a teacher's binder along with using the software on 2 computers for $20 per PC, that would be a $40 for the 2 computers.
Popularity came from schools which learned about these Edutainment Software through Vendors, other schools, sponsored book sales, etc. The JumpStart Series were considered the best of the Bunch when it comes to Edutainment, but to get the materials, Knowledge Adventure went Public and from 1991 to 2011 (20 Years), they were operating well but then they got purchased by NetDragon in 2017 and by 2023, Knowledge Adventure closed down.
So the closure of Knowledge Adventure sounds like a similar consolidation that happened to Edmark, Broderbund and The Learning Company when it comes to companies buying up Edutainment Software companies that plan to expand into other forms of marketing but were unable to do educational software as some of the companies pursued their own IPs over the competitor IPs. See how this works now? Of course there's other Edutainment Scoring Calculations waiting to be found, not just the JumpStart Series being the 1998-2001 Print Releases along with the Advanced Series from 2002. Richard said to the Girls.
