PRP between IB and Jackariah Quote: Fall has finally come and it's about time. You're really starting to enjoy the cooler weather after this blazing summer. You've started gearing everything towards this transitional time....Only, it's false tall or as some call it, second summer. It's getting unbearably hot again. Does it seem hotter than before or is it just because you'd finally had a break from the relentless heat? How does this effect your travel plans? Do you have to put them off or prepare differently? What about your hunting plans or you planting times? Is this whole thing a blessing in disguise or are you going to have to do a complete 180 in your life to make it work? Write an RP responding to the above prompt telling us about how this changes your plans.

Waves rushed the beach before retreating once more, the rhythmic shhh shhh shhh paired with the distant calls of fishing birds and the gentle breeze that rustled the dry grasses up on the dunes, Flossi could almost be convinced to take a nap. However, that was not on her docket - at least, not at the moment. Her destination was a little ways still, tucked behind the craggy rocks that connected the beach to the mountainside. Today would not be wasted! The impromptu weather change had invigorated her to come back to the beach, abandoning her autumn weather prep entirely to take full advantage of the warmth and heat the sun provided. If it was only for today, she would not be missing anything!
Navigating the beach became less of a stroll and more of an obstacle course until the little mare was setting her sharp hooves in the rocks crevices and climbing over to find a selection of tidepools in the slight bowl shape. Walls of rock rose up un-evenly on all sides but gradually dropped out of sight and into the sea. The large rocks werent what drew the little usdia to the area though, it's what they hide within them that has her eyes gleaming and excitement thrumming through her veins (or was that the climb?) She shook herself from her musings and stepped up to the first tidepool, peering in through the clear water to look at the vibrantly colored creatures, only to find that this one was so shallow, there wasn't more than algae covered rocks and a lone little crab who snapped its claws menacingly at her appearance. Not to be discouraged, she moved off a ways to peer into the next one. 288

Tirion floated atop the water on his back. His front legs dangling limply as his tail was used as a rudder to stop him from hitting the walls of the tidal pool as the waves lapped in and out. The weather had turned again and was now well above warm. Which made it perfect weather to lounge in the sun warmed water of one of his favorite deeper pools now that it was low tide. His deepest thought only being a slow wondering of what he would do to fill his time now that his mother and father had taken a small vacation up the coast. He supposed he had his sisters, but really, sisters weren't for 'Free Time', that was more of a family time and definitely not the relaxing kind when it came to those two.
Tirion rolled onto his stomach, deciding that a snack was probably more fun to think about than sisters that seemed to try their best to annoy him when they were there next to him. Luckily the freshness of the water in his low tidal pool also had the juiciest snacks. his eyes scanned the rocky sides and the sandy bottom, mentally crossing off options in his mind as he passed them. after a few minutes he found a nice looking sea anemone and decided wiggly little tentacles could be a fun treat. He took it to the side of the tidal pool and started to enjoy it as he anchored himself to the side. He was enjoying his snack no much he never even noticed someone coming up near by.

The sun warmed through her pale pink coat, making the mist from the crashing waves all the more refreshing when the wind picked it up and brought it her way. Flossi was absolutely taking advantage of the warm spell, having been disappointed that her beach adventures were going to become less frequent the colder it got. Separate splashing, the sound clearer than the ambient waves of the sea lapping at the rocks, and movement, larger than any fish, had pink eyes focusing on a distant pool. A breath left her in a swoosh of excitement; “Oh my goodness.” Determined to get a closer look to discover what was there her little hooves were trotting before she realized she was moving. This was the largest creature she had come across yet, and as she drew closer the creature gained shape and definition. Hooves were in the air and a muzzle pointed to the sky…her heart stuttered in horror, thinking the worst - until it flipped over and she was seeing fins. Her mouth was open, she was sure of it. She had heard of the seathi, but had never been lucky enough to meet one and yet - today, here she was seeing what could surely only be a seathi. Relieved that she had not, in fact, stumbled across a dead body - she moved to the pool and the aquatic pony with renewed enthusiasm. “Hello, there!” She tossed petal pink curls from infront of her face as she continued to come closer until she was near enough to touch the pool if she wished. The seathi was such a beautiful sea foam green, she was again struck by their otherworldliness. “Oh my. I thought the sun was getting to me!” A breathy, excited giggle escaped her. 296

Tirion jumped slightly as the voice sounded behind him. He had apparently been so engrossed in his snack that he was completely unaware of someone coming up behind him. The sea anemone still wriggling in his mouth, he spun quickly. Little squiggly tentacles wiggled their death throes as she quickly sucked them in and immediately started choking. The surprise and the last stitch effort from the animal consumed trying to escape quickly had his throat and windpipe blocked. Tirion's eyes went wide and locked with the gorgeous pink mare's. After a few moments he was able to gather himself with one last final hack and a blob of tentacles drifted to the bottom of his once peaceful tidal pool.
Tirion heaved in with aching empty lungs, filling them as he clung to the rock side. His mind slowly started working again as oxygen returned to his brain. The mare in front of him was gorgeous and he had practically just shot his snack in her face. He wasn't sure how he would ever recover, but the least he could do was try to appease any worries she may have for his safety. He blinked away the small tears that had formed from a full mouth and tried to smile warmly at her. "Sorry about that. I guess I wasn't expecting to see anyone else." He paused as he rubbed a hoof to the back of his head awkwardly then remembered he was talking to someone and snapped his attention back to her. "Did you say something? I missed what you said." Tirion's smile was lopsided as his smile turned even more apologetic.

Flossi’s eyes went wide, her expression shifting so quickly from excitement to complete horror at the mishap she had caused. Panic, sharp and hot, shot through her like an electric current sending her fur to puff. “Oh! Oh, no! How can I -“ She was pretty sure his face was turning purple and his eyes weren’t supposed to bulge that way. “What can I do?!” Just as she was about to thump him a good one on the back, a squirmy blob was hacked into the water at her hooves. She didn’t dare look at it too closely. Instead, her red gaze remained on the stallion as he gained his bearings, jaw dropped open as her brain stuttered to process what it witnessed.
It wasn’t until he started talking to her that she snapped out of her shock, bringing her jaw from the floor with an audible snick. “I am so sorry! I-I shouldn’t have came up so suddenly without getting your attention first. That was entirely my fault and I cost you your lunch! My goodness are you sure you’re alright? That looked horri-“ she cut her nervous chatter off, blushing furiously as she realized she was babbling over what he was saying.
Flossi shuffled her hooves awkwardly, her earlier excitement and the dissipating panic left her feeling nervous. But when he focused back on her and then smiled, she felt herself returning it with one of her own, ducking her head to use a few of her windblown curls to help lessen the weight of his attention. “Oh - ah…just that I hope you’re okay now. You are, aren’t you?” Her brows creased and lips turned down at the corners with concern. She shifted her weight back and forth on her hooves and sniffed lightly. “I’m Flossi…sorry I almost killed you!” 303

Tirion tried to slyly wipe his mouth as the pretty mare looked down. His heart sank a little that he couldn't stare into her eyes any longer, but he took the opportunity to try and save any remaining charm he may have once had. A slight movement of small wiggling tentacles in an incoming wave caught his attention and he quickly moved closer towards her in hopes of a distraction. His tailfin waving furiously directly over the blob as the jet stream propelled the sea anemone into the open ocean on the retreating flow. If he had given it much thought he would have sworn a few of the remaining tentacles were being shooken angrily in his direction.
Tirion cleared his throat as he tried to gauge what an appropriate distance between them would be. Luckily his little friend hadn't been directly under her so he was still a foot or so away as he clung to the side of the wall again. Unfortunately he had to clear his throat a second time before the hoarseness left completely. He smiled up at her, hoping to catch her eyes again. "No harm done. And I'm sure I can find something else to munch on." His attention drifted slightly as his eyes gave a quick scan to see if anything popped out at him. It wasn't till his sweeping gaze swung back that he realized he had trailed off in the middle of his thought. "My deepest apologies if I scared you." His chuckle wrang clear as it tinkled from him. "I swear I'm not usually a tentacle monster." He had to snap his own jaws shut before adding 'Unless that's what you're into' under his breath. He was sure he already looked weird as his nostrils had flared as he chastised his inner voice.
It wasn't till her name drifted sweetly back into his mind that he realized he had never told the pretty pink mare his name. "My name is Tirion." He waited, unconsciously holding his breath to see if he had creeped out this charming creature and if she would turn around and run or if she would stay and make him the happiest guy on the beach.

Her ears flicked forward at the sound of his voice with her eyes following his movements. When it was clear there was no contempt, she relaxed a bit and let a smile flit back to her face when he chuckled. “Well, I think you’re very handsome either way. But maybe you should take smaller bites?” Her giggle surprised her, bubbling up and escaping before she could pull it back.
Feeling brave, she sunk to the ground, stretching her legs out behind her she let her front hooves dangle over the edge into the tide pool. Her change in stance brought her much closer, not wanting to stand over Tirion but be more level. “Or maybe a food that doesn’t fight back?” She fought to keep a straight face, meeting his gaze before her smile turned into a full grin. “Well, I came here to find a tide pool with life in it!” A gentle breeze caught her mane and pushed it back from her face and bringing a contented sigh from her. “I’m so glad it has warmed back up. I wasn’t done exploring!” Flossi wrinkled her nose, “Besides, no one wants to be cold! There are much more interesting things to do when it’s warm.” A blush bloomed across her face when she realized, once again, that she was babbling. “Tirion.” She smiled as she said his name - it suited him very well. “It is so lovely that I met you today.” Her eyes sparkled with the pool’s reflection, kicking her hooves lightly in the water. “I’ve not met a…water-er…seathi before you.” 264

Tirion drifted slightly closer, his eyes slightly widened and sparkling as she felt safe enough to lay down close by, even after his mishap. His cheeks grew a slight muave color as his blush bloomed across his cheeks. Her giggle washed over him and warmed his skin more than the sun ever could, a slight tingle shivered over his skin and he was thankful he was mostly submerged in water and the slight rhythm of the ocean bobbing him to and fro on his spot hid any quiver his shoulders gave.
Tirion's lips curved in a bashful grin. "It's might be wise for me to switch up meals. It wouldn't be a fun experience if you hadn't been there to help." In his mind, her showing up had no relation to the anemone that had gotten stuck in his throat, she just happened to be around to witness the horror. "I've actually seen some lovely little fish in the caves down the beach that may be tasty." Tirion lifted a hoof to cover his eyes as he tried to guage the time of day. The sun was close to being at its highest point and would be blazing down on them harder soon. He brought his attention back down to the pink mare's next to him, stars still in his eyes. "It may start to get too warm soon" he paused, not realizing the silence growing between them as he admired her, but finally a few breaths later he remembered he hadn't finished his statement. "I suspect with your light coat you have as much trouble as I do with sun burn at the surface of the water.
He gave a nervous cough into his hoof as he continued. "If you didn't have any other plans for the day, could I interest you in getting out of the heat by exploring a cave?" He tilted his head and looked off to the side as he mentally traveled through the tunnels. "You may have to get in the water further in. Depending on which route we take there's a large area with a bank around a small pond, or we can go further into the tunnel where it winds and gets deeper." There was also the third option of her leaving, but Tirion hoped that wouldn't cross her mind as he gave what he hoped wasn't a pleading smile. He hadn't known her long, but he felt Flossi was someone he wanted to get to know more of.

At his nearness, Flossi felt her heartbeat stutter and the butterflies kicked up making her belly swoop and her face even more pink by the minute. Maybe she could blame the heat (from the sun) “My help?” Maybe the sun really was getting to her. She was pretty sure he hadn’t been choking before she had rushed in. Maybe the adrenaline made everything seem much more dramatic…?
At the mention of caves her ears went forward and she leaned ever closer, tipping forward in her excitement. The prospect of more exploration and keeping Tirion company both too enticing to turn down. “Really? Is there a way-“ she balked at herself, realizing she was getting ahead of herself. At his next words she looked at the overhead sun as well, then her back, nodding thoughtfully. “That’s true, I have been on the receiving end of a sun burn.” Just thinking about the uncomfortable tightness had her cringing. Now that it was brought to attention, she could feel the sun soaking in and while it was a soothing heat right now, she knew all too well how quickly it went from comfortable to ‘actually-I’m-being-cooked’
She sighed and started to pull herself from the tide pool when he made his invitation. “I would love to! I haven’t been to the caves before.” She nodded enthusiastically, getting her rear hooves under her. “Oh I can swim. Not a big deal. Whichever way-“ Flossi’s words cut off with a shocked yelp, her front hoof having slipped from where she had placed it on an algae covered stone at the edge, sending her tipping forward. Her eyes went round and then Tirion was just a soft green blur as the water was rushing up to meet her. Plop! There wasn’t even a splash to dignify her fall, just some ripples at the surface were the only indication something had happened. Salt water rushed into her nose as the cool water closed over her. She twisted and managed not to smack her face on the rocky sides, instead pushing herself back up to the surface. When her head broke the surface she came up spluttering, her mane plastered to her face. “See?” She gasped between coughs. “Told you I could swim!” 374

Tirion's eyes went wide as suddenly Flossi was coming closer and closer to him. He froze, nostrils flaring again as their eyes were locked and he wasn't sure if she was coming in for a kiss. He was hoping she had been just about to agree to joining him when her sudden change of form and her sudden lunge toward him. He hadn't thought she was like that, and it had shocked him frozen. Their eyes broke contact as she was suddenly flying over his head and his brain had no chance at keeping up with the ongoing scene playing out in front of him. Just as she was hitting the water he was able to move again, but at this point he was rushing toward the sound of her slapping body against water. His heart cracked with the sound. He was just preparing to lunge forward to drag her out of the water when she popped up from the water, water sluiced quickly down her smiling face and plastered her angelic curls to the blushing cheeks.
Again Tirion was stun locked. This time luckily from her beauty and not from any terror for her life. His laugh rung out from his now fully healed throat. Unlike the tinkling chuckle he had released in their earlier conversation, this laugh came out loud and uncontrolled. It only took him a second or two before he was able to reign it in again and agree with her statement of being able to swim. "Fantastic! And it looks like none too soon." He continued to chuckle till he realized he had never returned to his former distance and the tide was slightly rocking him into a continuous bumping into her. His own blush bloomed again, his tail reacting on its own to propel him away and outside the range of accidentally touching her. His head half submerged in water as he stared at her, then popped it up to smile at her. "It sounds like we have a plan then. I'll lead the way." And off he turned to lead them to what he hoped would lead to them becoming friends and hanging around each other more often. Their time together had been short and full of adventure so far. If nothing else, he was sure he would enjoy getting out of the now baking sun.

Flossi’s cheeks ached with her grin, Tirion’s boisterous laugh was infectious and she was joining in with her own peals of laughter until tears shone in her eyes. Her laugh died down to a breathless chuckle, her gaze falling back to him as the waves pushed them to each other. Her shoulder bumped into him before she could counter the water’s motion. “Oops!” And then as soon as it happened, he was propelling himself away. Of course he would maneuver in the water so much better than she would. She eyed him appreciatively before he turned to lead her to the cave.
It would be so great to get out of the baking sun, but mostly she looked forward to getting to know Tirion better and exploring the caves. Their meeting had some mishaps, sure. Near death experiences, mild drowning…all recipes for disaster and yet, she found she wouldn’t be able to look back on today in a negative light even if she’d tried. She propelled herself forward, following close so that she wouldn’t get lost. Flossi was exceptionally happy the weather had changed back to the summer, having felt her beach exploring had been brought to an abrupt end. She knew others may be looking forward to the weather’s shift into autumn, but she’s found she didn’t share the sentiment. What would she and Tirion encounter next? Excitement surged through the little usdia as she followed her new friend. How would they possibly hang out when the chilled winds and clouded days returned? Huffing with determination, she wasn’t going to worry about it yet - she was going to focus on the now and worry about the cold, later. 280
