HISTORY
In the beginning there were Gangrels, some more wild than others. Like many, Gangrels vary in personality and depth. Some are more humane while others have lost any humanity they may have once had. It’s one such Gangrel, a twisted sort, that caused the bloodline Oberlochs.
One day, long ago, there were mortals working a coal mine. A bored Gangrel incited a riot against their oppressive bosses. (Mix of mortal and vampire) Most of the family who owned the mine were killed horrifically. The Gangrel who had started the riot decided to Embrace the surviving three, assuming they would be driven mad by hunger and destroy each other.
Instead, after a period of wandering, the three survivors decided they were to be called Oberlochs. They wanted nothing to do with those who forced their change and left them to obscurity. Thus their own lives and clan so to speak. One run by the Disciple Sarcedsia, with her fellow survivors being her Antediluvian and Methuselah.
At first they found an abandoned city and started to form a family. They figured out how to Embrace childer and grew the bloodline. When the "family" became too large to sustain themselves amongst the kine, they began to spread out to other rural and abandoned towns where they could live quietly away from others who weren’t their own.
The oldest of the Oberlochs are aware of their being at least one other clan out there. Being hermits causes them to know little of the outside world that they didn’t already know. Those born into the bloodline have zero idea anyone or anything else exists. As to those embraced… memories and knowledge varies. An embraced mortal will not be aware of anything outside of any retained memories from their mortal lives. Being so isolated it is rare for any Oberlochs to know of other Vampires existing. Other than perhaps a belief that they aren’t along in the world.

APPEARANCES AND TRAITS
An Oberloch has some of the Gangrel features but because they’ve become so reclusive they tend to be more animalistic in appearance and less groomed. They also tend to be more feral. Often they are covered in scars. The young can heal but the older the Oberlochs the more they remain.
They tend to wear what they find/make and never worry about appearance. Most of the time an Oberloch doesn’t care what anyone thinks of their appearance. They aren’t concerned with concepts like beauty and cleanliness.
Their homes are often bloody, home to feral animals. They have only what they find, never ever visiting cities. They stick to remote areas and live hermit like.
Also they don’t age like a normal vampire. The older they get their aging shows. So a newer turned Oberloch, clanless, or one who joined from say Gangrel would look young. But the original Oberlochs all show their scars and wrinkles; any signs of aging. As will any born Oberloch the older they get.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AND LINKS They are obsessively loyal to their "family" and require any initiates to undergo horrific tests of endurance both before and after the Embrace. Local leaders are referred to as "Grandmother" or "Grandfather" and childer must show proper subservience to their sire. A big source of any embracing is lost travelers and the homeless. Anyone who is alone. They don’t hold embracing events but embrace based on opportunity. Info in last postGeneral info on vampires

 The Oberlochs leader is outside her home enjoying the night sky. She has a small discreet hut that she built herself. A place few know the location of. Those who find themselves in her part of the forest may never even know she is there. Her hut was designed to blend in and hide from others. Tonight she is contemplating her next moves as Grendel demands more embracing. Oberlochs want to avoid all others, but she has to abide by his desires, his wishes. Sarcedsia refuses to congregate but she will build the bloodline.
