Bryan Alvarez: Alright Dave, so we've got another update on Brantley Summers who we haven't seen in several months. As you may remember, the current CEO of Midnight Marauders International is on the outs with WWFG after walking out on a handshake agreement with former SWA commissioner Mick Foley. A lot of people have been questioning whether the Marauder's will leverage the Saudi Relationship to--

Dave Meltzer: Right, right, the Saudi Relationship, I mean, that's what everyone is thinking right? I mean ever since 2016 they've had this longstanding, uh, kind of uh, well you know, we can get into it, but I think it's a matter of public record at this point and we only have what a couple minutes? Needless to say, at another time, it'd be a slam dunk. Lean on the Prince, get BS back in for a big pay day.

Bryan Alvarez: But these aren't regular times are they Dave?

Dave Meltzer: Yeah and I mean there's a perception around Summers, fairly or unfairly, and I would argue unfairly, that he's, well, it feels ridiculous to say it but that he's the "Choosen Wrestler of Israel." I know, I know, I shouldn't even be putting garbage like that out there.

Bryan Alvarez: Oh please! All because of one Vaseline Man appearance in what, 2009? So then what about the CWF? I mean all we've been hearing about are these big CWF plans.

Dave Meltzer:
Right, well with that it's a case of bad timing, I mean, he's negotiating this big deal with CWF on the basis that WWFG is offering him so and so and they've gotta match it, which, to his credit he's pulled off despite the political situation. But now, I mean, with Orton coming in......

Bryan Alvarez: Oh, duh. Why would they need Summer's that bad if you've got Randy Orton in talks with WWFG? No disrespect to Summers.

Dave Meltzer: Right, and before people on Twitter jump down my throat let me just say say that I'm not talking workrate, or five star matches or whatever I'm talking purely on name value, which is what Brantley brings at this point, Orton is the bigger star. I mean it's the classic thing, we see it with LA Knight and The Rock. Or back in the day, you know, anytime Flair comes in it's not going to be the same for Buddy Landell.

Bryan Alvarez:
So now Summers needs to find a way to drum up some competition to drive his CWF price? And DHW is off the table... So that leaves him with KGW and....

Dave Meltzer: Right. LWL.

Bryan Alvarez: Wait, you're not saying--

Dave Meltzer: I don't need to say it, it's all anyone's been talking about. And I have to admit, it's a compelling case. I mean, in this economy, who would open a new company? With things stretched in as they are and with The Midnight Marauder's history it does make you wonder.

Bryan Alvarez:
Yeah, Lance is convinced that's what it is. Just a shell company to drum up artificial demand for Summers. And we know that LWL is historically a company where what MMI wants, MMI gets. So what are you saying? Is BS going to come in on some contract where nobody can touch him? We all knowh how much these guys love relitigating old contracts.

Dave Meltzer: Well word on the street is that they're still trying guys out to be his partner since that's his bread and butter. One guy I know they've got an eye on is Little Guido, so we'll probably be hearing more of them. Otherwise, shoot, I mean they're kind of just running in circles throwing stuff against the wall. Shoot, if they're really that desperate they could just bring Freakshow back--

Bryan Alvarez: No. Absolutely not. Isn't he supposed to be dead anyways? You can't just write guys out of the story and then bring them back it kills the thing for the future. You want to talk about jumping the shark? And, obviously, you're being facetious but it wouldn't surprise me one bit if Russo or one of those other stooges was trying to find a way.

Dave Meltzer: Yeah, I mean in their dreams, right? Besides, with all the insurance claims and payouts Summer's has gotten can you imagine the legal hellstorm that would befall the Midnight Marauders? Trust me, Bryan, if they ever got away with something like that the last thing they'd ever want to do is put him back in the ring under some mask and risk him getting exposed. That would be the death of MMI as we know it.

Bryan Alvarez: Certainly wouldn't be a good time for David Otunga, that's for sure. Alway fun to dive into conspiracies with you Dave, hope our listeners don't run off the rails with it.

Dave Meltzer: Oh I mean, I'm sure they will. I'm sure they will. But that's just the nature of things isn't it? People will say what they will. And I get it, there was never an official autopsy and all this stuff and yadda yadda yadda. And I'm sitting here like... WHERE is the EVIDENCE for ANY of this? It's all just conjecture.. But people are dug into their little tribes and I'm sure the Apex people will say I'm minister of propaganda for the guys while the MMI people say it's the exact opposite. All I can really do is laugh..

Bryan Alvarez: Right.
