XXXXXTanamaru never knew his real parents. He had grown up with someone he had come to consider his father. The dragon raised him, teaching him all of his tricks. He lived in a cave on the mountain side of a small village, where one day he found Tanamaru in a basket, left alone. Tanamaru's parents had abandoned him, thinking he would die because he was born with a weak immune system. The dragon took him in and raised him, teaching him everything he needed to know to function in normal society. How to read, how to write, how to talk. What was edible, and what wasn't. He learned everything from him. But probably the most important lesson he learned, was how to fight. He was taught how to fight in order to protect those dear to him. He became strong, in order to keep those he cared about safe and sound. One day, he was allowed into the town where they lived so he could get experience being around other humans and be able to interact with them. He was able to learn so much in that one day. He felt close to the villagers. He wanted to be able to keep them safe as well. That became part of his daily life. He would train with his dragon for half of the day then go into the town to get supplies and other things in order to bring back to cook, also giving him the excuse to be able to have human interaction. Nobody ever question him for it. One day after he was 10 years old, he woke up to find himself all alone. As hard as he could listen, he never once heard a sound or any sign that his dragon was still there. Heart broken, he went into the town and stayed with them, making a living for himself doing tricks and other things. It also helped that the towns people took it easy on him and gave him most of what he needed. He was also able to learn other magics besides his slayer magic from the mages that visited the town, perfecting them to his capabilities as he grew. Though, shortly after he turned 17, there was a group of mages who started bullying his town. Not one to stand it, he ran them out on his own, being rather powerful for his age. But he knew that it wouldn't last long. They finally bested him, burning the town to the ground. Barely making it out with his life, he was forced to travel the world to find a new place to stay,
Around the time he turned 18, he found himself in the town of Magnolia, where he stayed for a while, watching the guild called Fairy Tail. One day he was noticed doing his magic in the streets for money and was brought to the guild, where he was asked to join their family. Having nowhere else to go, he decided to give it a try. He spent the next 5 years rising through the ranks until he made it through the S-Rank trials. During one of his missions, he came across a Sound Dragon Slayer Lacrima, which he took, having implanted within himself when he got back to the guild to increase his strength more, going through more intense training afterwards to master his new power. When the Magic Council Games came around, he was noticed by the Magic Council for his strength. After the games they asked him if he would like to be as strong as him. His guild master encouraged this, so he did, finally getting to the point of where he was able to evenly fight him. He was 30 when he achieved this monumental goal. He stayed as an S-Rank for a couple more years before he was made Guild Master when the previous one retired. At first, he was thrown into a situation he wasn't even sure how to deal with. But he quickly adapted like he had every time before. Soon he had a fully functioning guild again and started pushing everyone to be the best they could without overworking themselves. Even to this day, he still likes to have a relaxing time and usually doesn't give two craps when the Magic Council tries and yell at him for his guild members being reckless. He lets them have fun. Though he does tell them to try and keep the destruction down so innocent bystanders don't end up in the cross-fire.
