SpaceX launches "PAZ" & two "StarLink" satellites
February 22 2018
On February 22nd, 6:17am PST, SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket into space from the Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, carrying PAZ -- a radar observation satellite owned by the Spanish government.
But that's not the only thing that was sent into space!
Piggyback-riding off the PAZ launch, were two experimental Starlink satellites. Elon Musk's highly ambitious Starlink project aims to provide low-cost broadband internet worldwide, by beaming it down to the Earth's surface through a constellation of -- as envisioned by Musk -- 4,000 Starlink mini-satellites by mid 2020.
Musk also hopes to use the revenue generated by the Starlink network to help fund future missions to Mars.
If you missed it, here's a replay of the launch for you!
