Village Name: Breeheart Founding Members: Foxglove, Samoa, Tiger Honey, Cocoa Eclair. Found it with their parents Briosca and Feralheart, but they pretty much let the kids lead it.
What kind of Village is it? A place to find culinary master pieces. Pae come from all around to taste their sweet treats, innovative new dishes, or to learn how to make these delicacies themselves! With it so close to the Laisidhiel it also makes for a great little date spot for Faun and Fauny alike looking for fancy cuisine to impress their date.
  • Location description: You enter the Village via a giant welcoming arch with birds carved sitting at the top and vines running up its sides covered in vibrant flowers. This arch starts the winding, rock path down the small Village, heading for the main dinning area. With Feral and Cocoa both being handy in the ways of carpentry, their buildings are like high class cabins. Everything is made of wood, leaves, twigs, and such, but with the care and tenderness of someone who is making memories through it. With Feral’s background as a jungle Fauny, he has carved figures into the walls and ceilings of animals that once roamed his homeland. The roofs are made of wood, but have been lined with leaves and vines to give it a natural aesthetic. His daughter Cocoa has the same love for carving, and soon assumes the head of building, taking the Village on as her own canvas. You can tell the love and care that goes into these building side sculptures. One building stands out in particular to these more ‘wild’ buildings in that instead of beasts it has desserts galore. This is where most of the cooking and baking happens, a gift from Feral to his wife Bree. You can see little gingerbread men with cookies, cakes, and every sweet delicacy carved into this delightful building. As you pass these building, flowers and colored plants mark the sides of the pathway that will eventually lead you to an open area, covered by the high hanging trees above. Jars with fireflies in them have been strung up above, and there are always fresh flowers cut and sitting in little glass jars on the tables in order to create a cozy and romantic atmosphere. In this area are many places to sit, with wooden tables ranging in size to accommodate the pair on a date or a whole traveling family. Each table is carved with an animal to hold its base and the flat surface on top of it. The few building that sit as a half moon around this area, are where those serving will be coming and going in order to care for their visitors, with the other side mostly forest and a pond beside it. This was dug out by the family and filled with the natural well water in order to accommodate their water bound guests. They have even created shallows where tables have been set up for them in order for their waiters to reach them. The largest tree sits on an island in the middle of this body of water, giving them natural shade and a beautiful scenery. In the unseen areas, there is a ton of farming going on. Tiger Honey has attempted to take on bee keeping while Samoa grows a coconut plantation to name just a few. These areas are usually kept private and away from visitors, in order to keep the integrity of their food stuffs, but if a tour is requested, the family is overjoyed to offer one. The buildings to hold their own produce for trade or use aren’t as nicely done up as the rest of the buildings for visiting eyes, instead opting for what was more durable or reasonable at the time. They’re still well built and will last the family quite a few life times. • 24.5N & 10.5W Residing near the healing house and Laisidhiel ensures the place some traffic, while being near the apple farm and Lemon Heart’s also ensures it some wonderful starting trade partners and neighbors. They’ve also managed to snag a spot on some beautifully, fertile farm land while also staying near some forest area to keep up their building opportunities. • With a family that’s already decent in size, taking on even more members has helped this place grow sooner than expected. With an influx of visitors and students as well, it can range from a cozy village of 9 to a bustling, small town.
Village Details • Monetary unit: Most of the village is based on the barter system. Spices, fruits and vegetables, wood goods, honey, baked goods, and other culinary creations may be used as currency to trade for what items they may need. • Religion: Everything revolves around the earth. The earth is what meets their needs, and provides this village everything to thrive and be the culinary legend it is. The founding members realize how every aspect of what they love goes back to the earth. Others who live there do not have to believe the same, but are expected to respect the land that has given them so much. Due to these beliefs, and the lure of delicate treats, they have found themselves a patron deity- Silvana. Though they don’t worship her per-say, they do supply her with tokens of appreciation for her blessing and protection via food and sweets. • Agriculture: With the Village sitting on fertile farm land and the Breeheart family handy with plants, you can find a wide range of food growing here in order to trade or make their own dishes with. Though there is a wide range of items, they’re not made in the biggest quantity, excluding them from most trade opportunities. This ranges from every day items some being lettuce, carrots, onions, and celery. Instead they keep a portion of these seeds in order to trade with others. Some of the larger items they do have available for trade are herbs and coconuts. • Labor Force: farmers, harvesters, construction, landscapers, hunters, cooks, culinary teachers, waiters. Every adult is expected to hold a job if they’d like to partake of the village’s earnings. Teens are urged to take on odd jobs in order to find their ‘fit’ and kids are never excluded from helping. Any means to get everyone feeling like that have a place they belong and are contributing. • Industry: Mostly food and baked goods • Natural Resources: Mushrooms, berries, coconuts, cinnamon, well water, pineberries and nuts • Exports: Coconuts, berries, mushrooms, veggie seeds, herbs, jams, spices, honey, palms, pine berries and nuts, well water (clear and drinkable), wood, lumber, and wood crafted items are available for trade • Imports: Flour, vanilla, a wide array of fruits and veggies, medicinal supplies • Major Trading Partners: Sparks Hallow, Kekomura, Apple Farm, Lemon’s Lemons, Laisidhiel, Kurt’s Ranch, Star Grove (always open to more) • Communication: For every day communication with one another, Mellons can be used as a quick back and forth especially during the busy rush of work. When it comes to village wide communication, there are two notice boards. There is one right by the welcome arch for any news pertaining to guests (written in as many languages as there are those in the Village who can write them), and another notice board in the private quarters, by the Breeheart’s main house. This one is used for mainly the Villagers and also written in as many languages as there are those who need it thanks to the variety of Pae that have landed there. • Broadcast: Currently they have weekly meetings during off hours in the dinning space. There Bree makes them all something special while the kids go over any business related information. They also get updates on farming, harvesting, etc. in order to keep their stock in check. If a meeting needs to be had outside this one, they’ll all be summoned via Mellon. • Transportation: Most travel by hoof or air depending on who it is doing the traveling. If it’s a large trade order there are carts that have been made for the journey. • History: The history of the Village is wrapped up in the history of the Breeheart family. With their mother becoming possessed by an evil Fae, a lot of the kid’s growing up was done on their own while their father was out searching for her. Once their mother was reunited with them, the kids were all grown and finding themselves. It caused an awkward void within the family that was readily seen in Briosca’s depressing manner. As a way of trying to rebuild family ties, the kids had an idea of building their common love for food and baked goods into something bigger, something that would make them work as a family to accomplish. It also felt like a brilliant way to welcome their mom home and give her a purpose in life again. It started small with visits to the tree with baked goods, but every order that came in and every chance that Briosca got to relive her love of baking was another moment of healing. Now with some of their own farmland and helping hands, it’s a dream seen to fruition. • Influence: Restaurant life and culture- all love for baked goods, drawing community together, and sparking creativity in unlikely ways! • Architecture: Handcarved cabins, that are elevated in look thanks to their animal and landscape carvings. Then with the addition of plants, vines, flowers, give it a very earthy feel. • Government: Briosca and Feral’s four kids run it together, but in their own divisions. Foxglove manages the day to day of the Village, its guests, and trades; Tiger Honey is in charge of the cooks, bakers, and wait staff; Samoa is in charge of the farmers, hunters, gatherers and anything that has to deal with their food stocks; and Cocoa Eclair is in charge of construction, landscaping, repairs. Together they make the lasting decisions for the whole Village. • Detainment: Feral has built a small jail house towards the private area of land in order to keep the commotion away from guests. • Law Enforcement: Currently Feral is the go to bouncer. If any guest starts to act unruly, he will be the one they go to in order to ‘deal’ with them. As well as any issues within the Village itself. Plans have been started to equip the rest of the family with some fighting sense and perhaps invite some other Pae who’d be willing to live there and help protect it. • Entertainment: Eating and getting the chance to learn some new techniques are always a go to in this Village. When this isn’t happening, there is always a chance for sitting around a fire and exchanging stories- especially from Feral. This is a group that isn’t afraid to have some fun and make it a point to do so through Village potlucks, forest hikes, or learning a new trade. They're always open to hiring a musician to play for patrons a couple times a night or other entertainers. • Education: For the young ones born here, a teacher is employed from Sparks Hallow during the 'school season' (if any Pae with this skill or dream is welcomed to move in and help though). They will get basic math, reading, writing, etiquette, etc skills taught. A deal has been made with Sparks Hallow that those wanting a broader education may travel to the Village for a season of education. When they become teenagers, they'll be expected to start taking up odd jobs or internships with different industries in order to find their 'fit' and learn the industry. The Village offers its own food education program to outsiders. If you choose to have the education in the Village itself, you’ll be put up in your own room and given a certain number of days training in some culinary category of your choice. Otherwise, a teacher can come to you if your Village as the necessary accommodations and the price is right. • Health Care: With being so close to the healing house, their health care is literally just around the corner. Though they still will trade for the occasional herb to handle the more minor things on their own. • Finances: One of their most precious commodities is their vegetable and coconut seeds. These are always collected and stored in quantities that would cover both next year’s crops or pricey trades. If there is a slow year, they always store up for next year and forgo using them in trade. Otherwise, most everything is handled based on Pae’s contribution to the Village- they will get what they earn. • Archival System: There is record keeping of recipes kept inside the cooking house and most other Village business is noted by Foxglove and kept within the main house in the Village. Right outside the main house is where the Villager’s bulletin board is with notices and a gathering space in front of this for any meetings or other items that might need the space. Most trade meetings will start at the front where the welcome arch is and end at this main house in order to finalize everything verbally or written. • Housing: For anyone wanting to live in the Village, a home will have to be specially prepared for them. Since it is still fairly small, they aren’t building to expect growth. Instead, there is a housing building that has many rooms for overnight guests or new Villagers waiting on their home to be built. • Commonality: The up front thing that brings most of the Villagers to this community is their love for food or their skill with it. The lasting thing that holds them together is the comfortable, family like atmosphere or even the respect for the earth itself. The whole Breeheart family is open to and loving of those that want to share in their dream, and supportive of new ideas or talents. It generally makes everyone feel at home. Then you see their respect for something greater than them- the love for the land and everything is provides and it’s hard not to admire them.

Village Name: Knowe Hills [nʌu hɪlz]; Colloquially known as Teensy TownFounding Member(s): Punky B. et al. (He started it and then just kept collecting other minis)What kind of Village is it?• Both agricultural and underground; primarily aboveground farming and underground communal/residential spacesLocation Description:•Aboveground: The village green is on top of and centered on a low, wide hill. It's a roughly square-shaped flat patch. The locals can set up market stalls or have outdoor events and the taller races of pae can meet with village reps and conduct business. Along the North side of the square is where the crops that require the most space are planted (mostly grains and some varieties of creeping vines like cucumbers and melons). On the East and West sides are individual garden plots where residents can specialize. South side dips down into the main entrance to Knowe Hills proper (which is basically just a big door in a hillside); two paths branch to either side of the main entrance, leading to the village green, the aboveground entrances to residents' homes, and the fields.Underground: The main chamber is directly beneath the village green and it houses mostly government offices and public buildings like the archives and an extensive heirloom seed library. There are several smaller side chambers, including a space strictly for cultivating different types of edible and medicinal mushrooms, a root cellar, and storage. Underground chambers are surprisingly airy and well-lit through a combination of magic (shapers), cleverly designed sun lights (small tunnels from the surface that are lined with mirrors), and bioluminescent fungus.• 6.375 W, 25.0 N Terrain, overall, is gently rolling hills with occasional low valleys.• Approximately .5 sq. miles (only a couple of acres at most are actually in use so far)Village Details•Monetary Unit: Knowe Hills operates on a barter system, so anything they can't grow, catch, or forage for themselves is of high value. Of special value are items (like tools and furniture) designed specifically for minis.•Religion: Punky brought Faun spiritualism, or something very like it, with him from Laisidhiel. Instead of a Tree being the source, however, the residents of Knowe Hills look to the earth itself and believe in reciprocal care (i.e. if you care for the soil, it will care for you). Practicing is not compulsory, however, and different beliefs are welcomed so long as paeple don't get pushy.•Agriculture: Collectively, Knowe Hills produces wheat, barley, melons, various gourds, and several varieties of mushroom. Individual residents can set up their own personal garden plot (right on their roof) as they like.•Labor Force: Residents are expected, by and large, to maintain some kind of work. Options include: Agriculture, horticulture, social work, records keeping, etc.•Industry: Mainly vegetable produce and simple medicines. Weavings can be made from plant fibers and residents can trade for other materials to make handicrafts and knick knacks.•Exports: Fresh produce, medicine, fabric, and flour. Possibly honey, beer, sugar, smol furniture, and handmade crafts.•Imports: Animal products (meat, eggs, milk, hides), tools, lumber, pottery, tree fruits, pearls/shells•Major Trading Partners: Montagne (Standing agreement for specially made smol tools), Koehaira, Partayzia, Laisidhiel, Sunrise Terrace, Breeheart, Zamarad•Communication: Knowe Hills has no official language of state, but recognizes Common Speech, Common Script, and a somewhat archaic form of spoken Fae. Most residents have lived in other places first and so they bring their experiences with them.•Broadcast: General announcements are made weekly on the village green. Urgent communications are usually sent via mellon (spoken) or familiar (written).•Transportation: Some paeple are lucky enough to have familiars big enough to ride or yoke to a cart. Most travel under their own power and goods are generally shipped via hand cart or basket.•History: Punky B. tried for seasons to fit in with the "proper" faun inside Laisidhiel, but he quickly tired of being looked down upon (both literally and figuratively). So he set off in search of a place to truly call home, gathering like-minded individuals of big heart and small stature. Knowe Hills actually started out as an old rabbit warren, but the shapers (renamed excavators) expanded on it, hollowing out a home under the hills.•Influence: World-externally, The Shire. Internally, Faun (Punky lived in Laisidhiel) and Fae (Many of the mini types come from the Fountain of Secrets)•Architecture: The majority of topside structures are designed to be put up and taken down at a moment's notice. Homes are smaller chambers off the main underground network and are added as the need arises. •Government: Community council; Punky didn't want to become 'The Man', as it were, but he's still considered to be "the guy in charge". All residents are required to serve on the council for one-season terms on a rotating schedule after living in Knowe Hills for a certain amount of time. ••Detainment: There's basically just a glorified drunk tank. No one's done anything serious enough to be imprisoned for any great length of time.••Law Enforcement: Much in the same way they have a single holding cell, Knowe Hills has a token force of watchmen. Their main duty is guarding the crops from birds and pests.•Entertainment: The village green provides a nice space for games and sport. Market Days are held once a fortnight. Knowe Hills also observes several public holidays (Spring Awakening, Spring Planting, Midsummer, Autumn Harvest, Feast of Thin Borders, and Midwinter), which have their roots in religion but have become largely secularized. Residents also find plenty of ways to entertain themselves, usually with arts and crafts. And if none of that suits, there's always kipping over to Partayzia for a vacation.•Education: Young pae are educated primarily in a skill or trade through apprenticeships. The ones that reach Journeyman level or are accepted into a fosterage, are sent out to other villages to continue or receive (respectively) their education.•Health Care: The collective wisdom shared amongst the community covers most forms of first aid, hedge magic, and herbal remedies. The House of Healing is an option if the need isn't great, but Knowe Hills is otherwise not equipped to deal with serious injuries, disease, curses, or Taint.•Finances: The Heirloom Seed Library operates somewhat like a bank. Residents are allotted a certain number of seed packets to borrow for Spring Planting and are expected to pay back into the library with whatever plants were allowed to go to seed during Autumn Harvest. There's also a little box to throw coins in on the rare occasion they're accepted as currency.•Archival System: 'The Archives' are housed just off the Main Village Office where the Council meets daily to hear petitions and applications for residency. Records are kept on scrolls of parchment and written in Common Script; the Village Roster is cross referenced with Petitions & Inquiries as well as the Seed Library Inventory. 'Significant Events' gets its own set of shelves and can be added to at will by village residents. Marriages, births, and deaths are recorded in both the Roster and Significant Events.•Housing: Homes are provided as needed and basically made-to-order by an Excavator.•Commonality: It's a tall pae's world, but Knowe Hills is built for minis, by minis. All pae are welcome, but most especially the ones who never felt like they fit in with their larger peers. That's not to say non-minis are barred from visiting or living there, but they're likely to feel most comfortable topside.Current Residents[Elros Namasi] •Punky B. - Founder •Poptart - Beekeeper ••Parfait •Phiinae - Mushroom Tender ••Krait - Apothecary •Queen Cake - Herbalist •Patinkin - Pest Picker (also Pollinator because fluffy) [Teigra] ••Kraken [Mouse534] •Lord Veigar - Tiny Master of Evil (Odd-jobs) •Q'is - Tailor[Menelie] •Kanakaloka - Courier •Genoveffa - MISTRESS OF CLEANLINESS (housekeeping)[DaemonGabrielle] •Abilene - Clothier •Jhanya - Laundry Service •Scrat - Gatherer of deez Nuts •Blitzen - Candlemaker •Coco Beans •ABBA - Greeter •Poof Poof - Greeter[Fea Line] •Vahid - Watch •Infi - Moss/Mushroom Farmer •Duskflutter - Candlemaker[Daisicle] •Shamam - Clerk (in name only) •Tschwy - Pest Control (rodents) •Indy - Pollinator •Towhee - Day Watch[Antidia] •Elenwe ••Ildril ••Fruitcake[Irish Night Fox] •Rehan •Copper •Kyros •Renard - Head of Village Zoning & Planning[MiddyGlow] •Bhaskara - Minibar & Inn KeeperJob Listings •Head Archivist ••Clerk(s) •Librarian ••Assistant Librarian(s) •Head of Village Zoning & Planning - Renard (Fable) ••Excavator(s) •Village Watch ••Night Crew ••Day Crew •Fieldhands ••Pest Control ••De-weeder(s) ••Pollinator(s) ••Irrigation •Gardener(s) ••Horticulturist ••Florist ••Herbalist ••Pomologist
