Three new Mega Evolutions were leaked late last week, and confirmed today. We have Mega Lopunny, the Normal/Fighting jazzercise teacher; Mega Altaria, the Dragon/Fairy fluffball; and Mega Salamence, the Dragon/Flying UFO (unintentional frisbee object).
I'm super intrigued by Mega Altaria. It gets Pixilate, which turns Normal moves into the Fairy type and gives them a significant boost. The main moves it can take advantage of this with are Hyper Voice and Hyper Beam, which are already impressively powerful without any boosts.
Dragon/Fairy is an incredible defensive type combination, with only four weaknesses, a buttload of resistances, and an immunity to a type that normal Altaria is vulnerable to. Altaria already gets Cotton Guard, which raises defense like nobody's business, and Mega Altaria is said to have a higher physical defense as well.
Mega Altaria looks like it's going to be a physically defensive version of Sylveon, which is already one of the stars of high-tier competitive battling. And with a superior type combination and likely a higher special attack, Altaria may even usurp my darling Sylveon's position in OU.
In short: fairy cloud dragon will wreck everything. All hail fairy cloud dragon.

I would say that at least Goodra is specially defensive, but Mega Altaria has increased physical attack and Dragon Dance.

Mega Slowbro and Mega Audino were accidentally posted early on the official Korean Pokemon website last night. Mega Slowbro retains its typing and gets special attack and special defense boosts, while Mega Audino becomes Normal/Fairy with increases in both its defenses.
Similarly to Kangaskhan, it's not Slowbro itself that Mega Evolves, but rather the Shellder on its tail. Shellder now covers Slowbro's entire body in a really awkward way, and I've yet to see a single person who likes the design.
Mega Audino seems to be getting a much warmer reception, but I share the prevailing opinion that the design would work just as well as a regular evolution. It's interesting to note, at least, that Audino is the first Unova Pokemon to get a Mega.

Slowbro balances on its tail, which it can hop around on like a Spoink.
Mega Audino has a hell of a lot of potential, but I wonder how many people would choose to use their team's Mega slot for a supporter. Audino already has decent HP, and the Mega Evolution will probably take both its defenses over 130, which is great. It currently can't learn Follow Me, but if it were to gain it as an egg move (and I have no doubt in my mind that ORAS will introduce additional egg moves), that would make it an incredible asset for doubles and triples. Follow Me combined with its good HP and defenses to help its teammates survive longer, Heal Pulse for pinch recovery, and its Healer ability for a chance to heal its allies' status conditions.

CoroCoro's out, we've got Mega Lati@s (who were already confirmed by XY hackers), Mega Beedrill, and Bird Jesus. The Eon Ticket event is coming back. It would be kind of a disappointing month for reveals, except...
An item called the Eon Flute will allow players to ride Mega Lati@s through the sky! And you can fight wild Pokemon up there! Including every single non-event legendary that isn't normally native to Hoenn or Kalos.
That's all very well and good, but how did some of those legendaries get up there? Heatran, Regigigas, the beast trio, and the Musketeers can't fly. They're trapped on these tiny islands in the sky, and the only way to get down is to be captured by some human kid. Whoever put them up there is just a huge a*****e.

Mega Audino and Beedrill have me HYPED. They're totally going on my ORAS team.
...Also someone help me I'm drowning in Nincada eggs. Over a thousand and still no shiny. ;A;

Good news: Mega Steelix and Mega Glalie. North America will get the demo through a Global Link newsletter. You need to opt in to email communication from TPCI.
Bad news: No trainer customization, and no XY patch to add the new content from ORAS. Perhaps the "jerk" in the title is really Game Freak.

...Then got a shiny Axew by pure chance while training. You just can't plan for these things.
