It had been three days since Kyouya Ootori had taken Juanita Corazon's thumb drive. Two since he'd sweet-talked his way into campus security and had a nice long discussion with the chief, and followed that up with a visit to his favorite attendant at the school records office, who really probably shouldn't have allowed him access to the information he wanted, but did. One since he'd collated the corresponding data he'd received from both parties, and called to make an appointment to speak with the board of directors. He wondered, as he stood in the hallway and waited to be called in, if any of the other students had spent as much time in front of Suou-sama and the Board as he had. He had been there at least three times at this point. Rather than feeling intimidated, he was starting to feel ... oddly comfortable with it. "Ootori-san," a female voice called from the board room. "The representatives will see you now." He adjusted his glasses, and strode in with confidence, stopping at the front of the room where he could address the representatives as a group. "Ladies and gentlemen of the board of directors," he said calmly, "I am here to speak to you today on behalf of Juanita Corazon, to lodge a formal protest of discrimination against Akinora Jiro-sensei." ***** It was some time later that Kyouya's presentation had ceased, and their questions had all been answered to the best of his knowledge. While he couldn't guarantee the results -- students were not privy to such things -- the evidence he'd gathered had been rather damning, and the mood in the room had shifted from attentive to perturbed to ... motivated, he thought. Something would be done. "All of that said, sensei," he bowed politely to the members of the board, "there is another matter that has come to my attention as of yesterday, and I expect you have questions for me on the matter of Kuromoto Daiichi, Kyandiice DeLuna, and Orihara Izaya. Please allow me to show you the footage of what actually happened at the club that evening." It was not Kyouya Ootori's problem to handle the school's publicity issues. He would hand that matter over to the people most capable of dealing with it. As for the newspaper club ... no one paid attention to them anyway.

Not a few hours later; Kyandii would be summoned to the Chairman's office. It was unnecessary for her to be brought before the Board of Director's as she really only had a small role in the entire incident, truthfully. Still. The Chairman. Suou. The teacher hadn't actually told her why she was summoned, so she thought for sure she was getting expelled from Ouran finally--- especially based on that little self-satisfied smile on the teacher's and the security guards faces as they escorted her to the office. 'Yeah, you'd like to get rid of me for good, wouldn't you?' But if she left, who would be left to torment them and make their jobs that much more exciting? 'I suppose I could make the extra trip over to say hi every once in awhile.' Not to mention, to pick up a pineapple-banana smoothie from Kyouya from time to time. Ah yes... they would never fully get rid of her. Not at all.
"Suou-sama, Miss DeLuna is here to see you."
His Secretary allowed her in and the teacher and security guard were left outside to miss the fireworks...
---
Needless to say, both the teacher and the security(honestly being nosy and wanting to see her come out of the chairman's office crying) were severely disappointed when she left the room laughing of all things. What was more, it almost sounded as if the Chairman had been laughing as well.
"Thank you, Mister Chairman!" She waved back before stopping just short of passing the two escorts- only long enough to give them a slow smirk- before skipping away laughing brightly. A look of absolute horror had crossed both their faces when they realized she was there to stay...
She had been relatively happy to learn that Ootori had shown the Board the video footage of the night of the incident, and that her name was officially cleared. Not that she had been entirely worried about it to begin with. Ouran was smart enough not to actually send a girl to jail without proof, bad reputation or not. The only trouble the entire situation caused was that the teachers had become especially troublesome and annoying since it happened, and even with her name cleared, that wasn't bound to change at all either. She wasn't worried. Kyandii had ways of causing more trouble--- against her guardian's wishes or not.
The most surprising part of the meeting, however, had been just how well the Chairman and her got along. She certainly hadn't been expecting the Chairman to be such a flamboyant person, or even one that could appreciate her sense of humor. The moment he had laughed at her dramatic excuses though, she knew she would be sending another donation to the school soon. How could the Chairman and the Vice Principal be such awesome, and respectable adults while the rest of the staff were nothing less then driven to make sure she got expelled?
'Jokes on you, ***holes. This is one nightmare you'll never get rid of.'
She laughed as she skipped her way back to a certain club, in a much happier mood then when she had been dragged there earlier.

Ootori_K "All of that said, sensei," he bowed politely to the members of the board, "there is another matter that has come to my attention as of yesterday, and I expect you have questions for me on the matter of Kuromoto Daiichi, Kyandiice DeLuna, and Orihara Izaya. All at once they began to whisper amongst themselves, nodding their heads. A man - one of the board - cleared his throat and gestured towards a smiling, bespectacled young man.
"This is Dr. Kishitani. He's a friend of the strongest nurse in our school. He knows Orihara Izaya, and has visited us today after hearing news of there being a stabbing of the... Izayaum kind. We'll need to wrap the meeting up soon, but perhaps Dr. Kishitani's willing to give you some advice."
The doctor grinned at Kyouya. "Izaya isn't really a parasitic disease or anything. He's a guy, plain and simple - he's annoying, but not really that hateful. I see he's found your club." He got up, picking up his bag. "I'm running late. Whatever you do, don't show that footage to Nurse Heiwajima, unless you've got deep pockets and really great insurance."
He walked towards the door and gave them all a bow. "And oh, do be careful with your information, around Izaya, meaning. He can be a little..." he clicked his teeth, "liberal with sharing them. Good day!"
The board member shook his head. "I see you'll have your hands full with this guest of yours. But we'll call the press and clarify the issue. It was an accident, as we can see, but possessing a flick-knife in Ouran is no small matter. I hope you'll be able to see to it that there will be none of these dangerous objects in your clubroom. Do monitor your guests. Meeting adjourned. Thank you, Ootori, for your time and cooperation. We'll see you again if anything else crops up."

Do monitor your guests. Meeting adjourned. Thank you, Ootori, for your time and cooperation. We'll see you again if anything else crops up." "Ah, Kishitani-san." Kyouya bowed politely. Not one of our doctors, was his snap assessment. He'd have remembered that young, smiling face. "I'm well aware of the nature of Orihara Izaya, though I've only recently had the pleasure of meeting him in person." He paused at the mention of Heiwajima. "You mean Heiwajima Shizuo? I was unaware that he had been hired by the Ootori medical group. Thank you for informing me." Kyouya had not yet met the man in question, but his reputation preceded him much as Orihara's did. He was frankly surprised that he'd been hired at all at Ouran, and particularly by his own family's company. Bedside manner was not something he thought was in Heiwajima's wheelhouse. He bowed again as the doctor departed, and then once more to the rest of the board of directors. "We will do our best," he said politely, "though of course such objects should not be brought to campus in the first place." Enforcement is really your job there, as well. "Thank you for your attention to these matters." He collected his notebook, his laptop, and the remainder of his paperwork, and departed.

Three days after the last day of classes, when all papers had been turned in, all tests taken, and all teachers had nominally concluded their work but for the act of grading papers, Juni found herself summoned to face the Board and the Chairman.
After a brief bout of crying in her dorm room - mostly from sheer nervousness - Juni washed her face, did the best she could to make her dreads presentable (and briefly considered shaving her head), and and make sure her uniform was as neat and clean as she could manage without going to the tailor and getting another one. (Why bother going through the misery of being stuck with pins if she was just going to have to turn in the uniform and go home?)
She arrived five minutes before her meeting and amused herself by looking at the stupid cats-on-the-internet memes that she usually didn't bother wasting her time on.
"Corazon-san," a male voice said, snapping her out of her glasses-induced haze, "the representatives are ready to see you now."
Juni squared her shoulders, and went into the meeting room.
"Corazon-san," the gentleman said. "We are here today to address several issues." Juni nodded, tucking her hands behind her to disguise their nervous fidgeting. "First, it is important for you to understand: you are not being failed in any of your courses this semester - including your Western Literature class. Akinora Jiro-sensei has been dismissed, after a thorough review. Your papers for the semester will be reviewed, and we may request the drafts that you wrote in Spanish - you did write the initial papers in Spanish?" He paused.
Juni was still reeling slightly from the thought that the dreaded teacher had gotten fired, and could only nod hesitantly - she didn't feel her grasp of Japanese was thorough enough yet to compose in the language.
"Good. We wish you to understand that your grade will be based on the essays themselves, not on your grasp of the language. Your class participation portion of the grade will be removed for this particular section, as you cannot be expected to participate willingly in a discriminatory and harrasment-filled environment. Your grade will therefore be based solely on your essays."
Juni did some mental math. She'd averaged a C- on her papers for much of the term, before she'd started receiving them back with F's but no actual criticism on them. She could probably reasonably expect a C in the class, maybe better? She'd take it - she gave the board a hesitant smile.
The man who had been speaking nodded to one of his colleagues, a woman. "However, Corazon-san, we feel that it is necessary to censure your behaviour somewhat." Juni's heart sank. "You are here at Ouran Academy to learn, to the best of your ability. And we are here to teach you. We cannot perform our jobs to the best of our ability if you do not tell us when something like this is going on. This issue could have been addressed much sooner, and with a great deal less pain on your part and time on your classmate's part, if you had simply gone to your class Dean and explained to him." She paused, waiting for that to sink in.
It took a little while. She was being censured for...not speaking up?
"You must bring issues like this to the attention of others, Corazon-san. We are not mind readers, nor can we instruct you if you do not let us know when you are struggling. And contrary to what Akinora-sensei may have said, you are not alone here. There are many who will advocate for your education and your well being. And we do not punish those who bring those issues in their well being to our attention."
Juni stared at her for a moment, and finally said, hesitantly, "I am not, not failing out?"
The woman nodded.
"I...you...I should bring to your attention, the, the things that are wrong here? And it is, is to your benefit?"
The whole board nodded.
Juni took a deep breath. "Then, ah, I would like to, to lodge a formal complaint, ah, against the dining room staff who, who prepare the coffee..."
