In the month of X, day XX, of the year XXXX, the worldly renown vessel, The SS NSTG began its grand voyage across the vast sea. Hundreds of passengers boarded the ship that day, all in hopes to experience a summer vacation like no other. Who would have known, however, that only days later, a tragedy would befall these unsuspecting passengers. On the XX day of X month, just some weeks after the SS NSTG departure, the local Coast Guards received a distress signal that stopped before it could be traced. A single message was recorded however, the very name of the SS NSTG, heard loud and clear among the ambient sounds of screams and cries in the background. It was obvious to conclude that the NSTG was lost, the fate of it's crews and passengers, declared unknown. Many attempts to find the ship had all end in failure and many of the ships who dare to follow its course in hope of finding it have all but become lost as well.

On the XX day of the month X, a miracle occurred. Hundreds of makeshift looking rafts carrying many of the missing NSTG passengers appeared all along the local coast. Family and friends rejoice as they are reunited once more. But what fate befell the others... those few who remains lost within the sea still? What was the start of it all? What happened to the SS NSTG and the many ships that followed? Many claims that the very course of the NSTG was now deemed the Haunted Path with many sailors saying that the ghost of the SS NSTG now haunts these waters. Where is the line between fact and fiction? The answers to these questions and more are what Nicolas James, a journalist, sought. A day after the 'miracle' Nicolas had been able to interview one of the NSTG survivors who was willing to speak to him of the tragedy. Her name was Kae, a young woman in her mid twenties. When asked, she spoke of a large pelican, saying that it had been the cause of incident. Nicolas was skeptical to believe the woman's words and his hope that she would be able to shed more light into the ever growing mystery was naught but a failure.

There was only one course of action left to him now and as a journalist, it was a risk he was willing to take. Anything for a story... right? No. It was not just the story. What Nicolas sought was the truth and he wasn't going to stop till he had it. His plans? He was going to follow the NSTG mapped course. After some weeks of preparations, Nicolas was able to hire a local fisherman to be his guide. The man hadn't been willing at first but his offer in cash was hard to deny and thus, here he was now, drifting along the endless sea, a slow fog slowly creeping up on them and obscuring their line of sight.

"I don't think I can go any further than this, Mister James," came the voice of the fisherman. "This fog 'er is pretty thick and my ole Bessy 'ere were never meant for such a long journey."

Nicolas made to reply, almost wanting to agree with the man. He was stop short however as the bow of the boat collided into something, throwing his footing off balanced. Throwing out a string of curses, he looked up to see the cause only to open his eyes wide in surprise. Low and behold... before him stood non other than the very ship he sought.

"By all that is holy... I would not believe it if I 'adn't seen it myself..." There was a hint of awe in the old fisherman's voice and Nicolas was surely incline to agree with the man once more. As excitement overcame Nicolas, he knew immediately what his next course of action would be: To get on the ship. But how? Peering over to the side, he saw what looked to be a fairly large hole on one side of the ship. Water was slowly filtering through it but it appear quite large enough for him to squeeze through. Should he? Nicolas shook his head of any doubt. He had made it this far already, there was no point in backing out now.

Readying his bag, Nicolas gave instruction to the fisherman. One hour was the time limit and the man was to leave if he did not return by then for some ill fate must have befallen him for sure by then. With a bid of good luck from the man, Nicolas was off. With the man ushering the boat as close as he could to the crack, he swung his feet over the side of the boat and jumped, latching onto the side of the crack and pushing his way in. It was dark within and the floor was wet and slippery and covered in moss. With the tilt of the ship, half of the room was covered in water and it was quite an effort to find proper footing. But eventually he did and soon notice a set of doors to the far side. Heading for it, he entered. Taking a few steps in, he had to stop once or twice to cover his nose. A dank smell filled the area, the foul odor assaulting his eyes and nose. Someone... or thing died here and it's body was surely still floating around.

So far, there was no signs of anyone or anything about though there were times he was sure he heard voices all around him. It was eerie... being down here in the lowest part of the ship.
