A Friend of mine just joined my a Campaign I'm in, and he wants to create a Fighter. I myself am relatively new to D&D, And would like some insight.

We are currently level 12, and he will be starting his character there.

He has 88,000 Gold to work with.

These are the feats that He has decided to take.

Power Attack
Cleave
Greater Cleave
Weapon Focus [Longsword]
Greater Weapon Focus [Longsword]
Weapon Specialization [Longsword]
Greater Weapon Specialization [Longsword]
Quickdraw
Improved Toughness
Combat Reflexes
Improved Shield Bash
Two Weapon Fighting

We have his stats and Health Points.
HP: 135 (After Improved Toughness)

Str: 20 (+5)
Dex: 15 (+2)
Con: 18 (+4)
Int: 12 (+1)
Wis: 12 (+1)
Cha: 12 (+1)

His base attack is 12

He is using a Masterworks Longsword (+1) with:
Keen (+1)
Collision (+2)
The Price calculated out to 16,315

Then he has a Heavy Steel Shield (Spiked) with a bonus +2 to AC

He also has a Mythril Chain shirt, which has been enchanted from a +4 to a +8

I can't remember costs for everything, But after he also purchased two immovable rods (Campaign related), he had 35,065 gold left over. He wants to do some further enchanting on the Spikes of his shield to do more damage, as well as any other useful enchantments that might do good.

Any suggestions? I might have left some stuff out of this.

We haven't gotten around to finishing his character, we just want to get his equipment out of the way right now.

More into 4e and pathfinder, and only have the srd here, but I will try.

Not knowing much of the campaign in question, or the player... or the plan for the character.

Personally, I would go Wounding... not much can live after it's Constitution has became 0, except undead, constructs, and other things that don't have a constitution score.

Or if he wanted to do a darker version of Captain America, Swap a few of his feats to get Shield Sling and Brutal Throw...Then attach Returning magical property to it. If he expects lots of at range fights, Distance works as well

No true reason, why the player couldn't do all three for the price of a +3 bonus weapon bonus.

Apply Dancing to his longsword, and carry a second, then simply activate it and draw his... for four rounds extra attacks... extra attacks equal possible hits, possible hits equal possible damage...

Defending a dead hero is about as useful as the dump he never took three hours ago. Bonus to AC helps protect said hero.

Speed, same as Dancing, but one extra attack in a full-round attack.

Bodyfeeder a psionic weapon add-on, on a crit the player gains a number of temp hit points equal to the damage dealt. Means he can stay in the fight longer.

I shall not go into the different Elemental types.

A side from those, I can only say... just look
