I was reading today on a post in a Satanic forum to see what their perspectives were. The post was talking about how "Satanism is a positive thing" and how Satan is the True God, and how Christianity is just a program to keep people from being free.
I found this extreme contradictory. For one, I don't see how anyone could see Satan as a Savior. Also, Satanism isn't a religion, just a ritualism that encourages bodily pleasures and sin.
I don't understand how some people could be so misguided to believe such a thing. Satan is evil, and I don't see how someone could be persuaded that he is good.

The desires of the flesh are deceitful and that's what they choose to be led by: Quote: Ephesians 4:17-24 (NIV) 17 So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. 18 They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. 19 Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed. 20 That, however, is not the way of life you learned 21 when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. 22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

I would not even visit these sites. You don't need to walk into a bar to know that people are drinking in there. You don't have to visit porn sites to know what is going on there either. Even visiting these sites can open yourself up to trouble and confusion. We don't need to read or visit anything that is against God to know that they twist the truth and temp the flesh.
As far as wondering why they believe what they do, it is simple, they do not have God in their lives to reveal the truth. When you live in the flesh you are living with dark and base desires that is a result of sin. In the Bible you read a lot of times of how deep and dark these desires become. You can see a decline into sick behavior in the world today and throughout history. Look at your serial killers to see how sickness progresses. The longer they go without being caught the sicker the acts they commit to be able to get any level of pleasure in what they do. You see the same decline into porn or drinking and so on. You have to keep upping the amount you drink or the drugs you do to reach that high feeling and so on.
Bottom line is we don't need to study those that do not believe to get a better understanding of them. The Holy Spirit will guide us in dealing and talking with them. It is our duty to study the Bible, pray, learn and grow in the Lord and He will give us the words to speak when the time is right.
