Brief History/Bio: Alekto grew up in very humble circumstances. Coming from the Nokost Woods in Oniketsu, she is used to harsh temperatures and living a long time without nourishment. She was born the second oldest in her family with eight younger siblings, whom she and her older brother Rein took care off when her parents were away, trying to make money in the nearby town's factories. The earnings were small, but the family made the most of it.
The factories her parents worked in were newly built magic-weapon factories, set up by wealthy businessmen from Sendora who wished to expand their empires. Worker treatment was harsh, and the task of putting together magic and metal is very dangerous. Both of her parents worked tirelessly so they could afford food on the table for their family, but it proved too much.
During an installation of new equipment in the factory, a burst of magical power shot out of the machine and killed Alekto's mother instantaneously. Her father was overcome with mourning and stopped going to the factory. But officials from the factory came and took everything the family had left, including the children. Her father was sent into the deepest magic mines in the Northern Region and remains there. The children were sent to a makeshift town behind the factory. Alekto's older brother, Rein, was forced to work in the factory while she took care and tried to comfort her younger siblings.
One day at the factory, a huge explosion occurred; Rein helped lead a poorly planned factory revolution and blew up the whole building. This explosion also destroyed parts of the makeshift town Alekto and her siblings were staying in. The majority of the workers and people living in the town perished, including six of Alekto's siblings.
Fleeing for their lives, Alekto and her younger sister, Jubia watched the smoke billowing out of the factory from a distance, holding each other. Alekto then saw a large, black bird fly right out of the smoke. She didn't think much of it then, but that bird would be revealed to be Rein. Apparently, there was a shapeshifting gene in the family that went to a few of the children, though no one but the father knew about this, and he had never told them. Rein must have realized his abilities sometime before the revolution. Alekto discovered her abilities soon after, finding out she could transform into four animals: an artic fox, a sea lion, a leopard, and a short-eared owl. Her younger sister Jubia doesn't have the gene.
Alekto and Jubia stayed together and eventually made a new home near Ruhig Woods. They were well supported and able to live a new life. But Alekto always pondered what became of her brother. She will soon find out.
Anything Else: Leopard form is the most straining for Alekto; the larger shape of the animal is more difficult to change into. She is still in the process of improving her speed with the leopard, as well as her swimming speed with the sea lion and flight speed with the short-eared owl. The Artic fox is the most comfortable and personal favorite form of Alekto.
