We all know how the third book ends (*spoiler alert!*):
Gale's strategies helped the rebels destroy the capital.
But was he in the right to do what he did... or the wrong?
For example:
My friends and I argued over this topic constantly. They stated in particular that he was wrong for blowing up a bunch of kids from the capital. I stated that in order to toy with the capital's minds, it was a formidable tactic.
Although we were both in different mind sets- my friends thinking about what was morally right and wrong, while I was thinking about right and wrong tactics of war, we were both coming up with good arguements.
What is your opinion???

Well I see it in two ways. One with this is payback for the slaughter of the countless of innocent teenagers from the twelve districts,and the people in the capitol surely deserved since they really didn't care about the tributes enough to have any form of protest against the hunger games. At the same time the rebels are no better than the capitol when they killed the capitol children cause they are doing the very same thing that they originally were against. But this is what I think, which anyone is free to agree, disagree, or just say that my statement makes no sense at all.

I don't really think it was right, or wrong, in a sense. They were at war- anything can happen, including blowing up innocent people.

It was wrong. Gale's tactics could be seen in many ways but they made no sense to me.

Gale didn't intentionally make those bombs to kill the children. They were a product of defense just like their other weapons. This is one thing I didn't catch when I read the series the first time, but the second time I saw it. Katniss asked Gale whod ropped the bombs and his reply was, "I don't know." I do believe the rebels dropped the bombs, but I do not think Gale was part of that mission. The rebels were definitely wrong for thinking killing more children would slow down the war, then suggesting another Huger Games. Not the brightest bulbs in the bunch.
If you think hard about it (which this also took me the second time through to realize) it's like the World Wars. Paylor did believe that there would be no more wars for a while. And the rebels probably thought the bombs would shorten the war (like the atomic bombs...) which they did.
That's my view. It's a good thing to read the books twice because I caught a lot of things I missed the first time through. And since I already knew what would happen, I could easily skip back and forth between pages to test my theories.

I understand that the bombs weren't to intentionally kill the children but I still think that Gale was in the wrong.
