I read on Wikipedia that the color purple in Japan signifies death, but knowing that Wikipedia is never a reliable source for detailed information, I instead did a Google search and came up with something completely different.
It said that the color purple signifies wealth in Japanese culture. I want to know if this is true or not and the actual meaning behind the color purple for a character I'm developing.

I do not know much when it comes to the colour purple other than in lots of cultures purple is the colour of wealth and royalty and it's Justin Bieber's favourite colour.Oh,and "murasaki",I think it was,is the Japanese word for purple.
