OK guys, many of you may not know me since I have never posted here in this guild. So basically, this is my story: I just turned 16 a few weeks ago and all my life I've been surrounded by people believing in God. A few of my family members are pastors or priests. I've been going to Catholic schools and never miss Church on Sundays. I grew up in a religious community and I've never met any atheists or non-Christian people until this year. I've recently accepted that I'm gay, but the Bible says it's wrong. But I want to know why. Quote: 1 Cor. 6:9-10, "Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God." Quote: Rom. 1:26-28, "For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. 28And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper." I know that homosexuality isn't natural, but I don't get why gays are discriminated by the Church. So, even though I've been a Christian pretty much my whole life, lately, I've been doubting about it. Also, I have lots of questions about Christianity in general. I'm not very close with anyone in my family or Church to talk about it nor do I feel comfortable talking about this among my friends. So if anyone would like to add me and talk to me about it, feel free to do so. Thank you.

The title of your post tells me what your problem is. Religion. That's your problem. When it is religion, it's just rules. That is what Jesus came to break--so that in the place of religion, we could have a relationship with God instead. When you have a relationship with God, you do things because you love Him, not because you have to. And with that, you will gain greater understanding.
It's really not about what you can and can't do--it's about your heart in what you do or don't do. If what you do brings glory to God, then keep doing it. If it doesn't, or if you're doing it for selfish reasons, then stop. If your heart is for God, then your actions will be for God. But if your heart is for yourself, you will do things for yourself. Even if your actions serve God, if your heart is in the wrong place, that just makes you a hypocrite. So get your heart in the right place, into a relationship with God, your Father, and everything else will fall into place.

if you don't know if your Christian then watch this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUKRA6XcsDs and this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ky8dTyPpiAo now as for Homosexuality being wrong, at least you said you know it's not natural but it's wrong, why because God said so. I don't really know how to explain why it's wrong but if God says it's wrong then it's wrong and needs to be repented of if you practice it, say you are, etc.

Homosexuality is a sin against what God intended sex to be. To give into homosexual desires is to go against God's desire. Try this site: Religious Tolerance

The place where many Christians go wrong is when they pass the point of rebuking sinful behavior, and begin to oppress people. I agree that the bible is very clear about the sinfulness of homosexuality, but that being said it is no MORE sinful than ordinary adultery. As said before, God's grace is extended to gays as well, so long as they repent of their sins and trust in Christ. I don't like it when people try to paint homosexuality as some sort of unforgivable sin.

I'm just as much of a sinner as you are. I'm no better than you...
In my younger teenage years, I
-watched porn to the point that I got tired of it
-ran away from home once
-experimented with witchcraft and mermaid spells
-summoned a demon and looked at demonic sites
-tried to burn down my high school when I was on depression drugs (which made me have irrational thoughts and bad decisions)
-took pictures of my body naked and sent them to some horny boys that were complete strangers (so now I can't tell whatever husband I have in the future that I've never showed my body to anyone but him >.<)
And I've been raised in a Christian family, even with all the stuff I'd done, and now I'm currently a stronger Christian than I've ever been before. I'm messed up so many times that it's mortifying for me. I haven't lived a very godly life up until now sort of... I'm trying, but it's so hard not to sin. Lol my life has been God and Satan playing tug-o-war over me. I'm a devout Christian, and I'm no better off or more holy than you. xd
