So last night i wrote a long poem that I pulled from something that I'm really feeling right now. I just wrote it to get my feelings out, but I noticed that this type of art is getting more popular so i might read it at an open mic or something... so if you could give me some feedback, it'd be much appreciated :3 (And yeah, it's a bit long)

Moonlight

I hate living in a backwords world
Where words and faces are only worth
The unreadable thoughts behind them
I hate living in a backwords world
Where people and places are only worth
The people willing to see them
And you are worth so much more
Than greedy hands and grasping fingers and glazed eyes
That linger
I wish your eyes would linger on my one last time
So I could fall back into them
Because your eyes are the most beautiful eyes
That I have ever seen
Like Evergreens
In the winter
And though they're broken and cold
They're worth a heck of a lot more than my eyes
Which look like the dirt of those Evergreens
Always looking up and always wanting to see them.
I hate living in a backwords world
Where the most loving people are subject
To hatred and harsh stares and howling in pain to the moonlight
Your breath was like the moonlight
It washed over me in waves that said
"I love you"
But you won't say "I love you" will you?
Because while we're loving each other from accross the globe
And out of everybody, nobody knows
You still can't say those goddamned wirds
Those ******** words
That would open you up to the pain again
But baby I promise if you open up agian
And let me in
You will never hurt again
And if you invest the trust to lean on me
I will never let you fall
So can you say the words of the moonlight
Whisper them gently in my ear
We can open up in this backwords world
Where we refuse to hold onto the one thing that could make us stable
Baby please hold onto me
And I will never let you go
I will always show you the good in the world
The beauty of "I love you"
Baby please say the words of the moonlight
And I'll say them too...
I love you.
